### Bookmark Manager – Quick Start (English)

- Install: Open chrome://extensions → enable Developer mode → Load unpacked → select the project folder.
- Open UI: Click the extension icon to open the bookmarks popup.

### Browse and Manage
- Navigate: Use “Back” to go up; “Enter” opens a folder; “Open” launches a bookmark in a new tab.
- Create:
- New Folder: Click “New Folder”, enter a name, confirm.
- New Bookmark: Click “New Bookmark”, enter Title and URL, confirm.
- Edit/Delete:
- Edit: Click “Edit” to change a bookmark’s title/URL or rename a folder.
- Delete: Click “Delete” and confirm to remove an item.

### Sync and Backup
- Manual Sync: Click “Sync” in the popup footer (requires WebDAV setup first).
- Export HTML: From Options page, click “Export HTML” to download a standard bookmarks HTML file.

### Settings (WebDAV and Auto Sync)
- Open Options: Click “Settings” in the popup footer.
- Configure WebDAV:
- Server URL (e.g., https://dav.example.com/remote.php/webdav/)
- Remote Path (e.g., bookmarks.json)
- Username and Password
- Save and Auto Sync:
- Toggle “Auto Sync” and set the interval (minutes), then click “Save”.
- Test Connection: “Test Connection” performs a dry run without writing.
- Sync Now: Triggers an immediate sync.
- Status: Shows the latest sync result.

### Background Behavior and Permissions
- Change detection: Adds/edits/moves/deletes are coalesced and synced shortly after changes.
- Periodic sync: Runs at the configured interval if Auto Sync is enabled.
- Permissions: Uses bookmarks, storage, alarms, and network access for WebDAV.

### Troubleshooting
- Sync failures: Verify WebDAV URL, credentials, network reachability, and write permissions.
- Missing icons: Some sites don’t provide a favicon; blank icons are normal.
- Can’t find Settings: Click “Settings” in the popup, or open extension options from its details page.
