DDB – Encounter Monster Items
Extension Actions
Add DDB magic items to monsters and have them displayed below their card in the combat tracker
WHAT IT DOES
• Attach one or more D&D Beyond magic items to a monster in an encounter. Items save to that specific encounter (not global).
• The items appear at the bottom of the monster’s card in the Combat Tracker—title plus a readable description.
• Works as soon as you open a monster card; no manual refresh needed.
• Includes a settings page to view, rename, export, import, or delete saved encounter data—down to the monster or the individual item.
HOW TO USE
In Encounter Builder: on the right-side monster card, click ITEMS, then paste a D&D Beyond magic-item link (e.g., https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/27146-wand-of-conducting
).
In Combat Tracker: open that monster’s card. The item shows under an “Equipment” block.
Options page: open the extension’s Options to review all encounters, expand to see each monster and its items, rename or delete entries, or export/import JSON.
NOTES
• Adding an item to a monster replaces that monster’s previous item list for this encounter. Add again to change it.
• Deleting an encounter (or a monster/item inside it) from Options removes it from storage.
• The extension runs automatically on D&D Beyond pages and handles dynamic loading so buttons and items appear when needed.
PERMISSIONS & PRIVACY
• Site access: dndbeyond.com (to place the button in Builder and show items in the Tracker).
• Storage: used only to save your encounter → monster → item data locally.
No accounts. No analytics. No data sent anywhere.
