Reading Time & Word Counter is a simple, focused tool that helps you understand your text at a glance. Instead of pasting your content into different websites or writing tools just to see basic statistics, you can open this extension’s popup, paste your text, and instantly view the numbers you need.
The extension shows three core text statistics:
Word count – how many words your text contains
Character count – total characters, including spaces and line breaks
Line count – how many lines are in your text
In addition, Reading Time & Word Counter estimates how long it would take to read your text for three different reading speeds: slow, average, and fast readers. This can be especially helpful if you create articles, blog posts, scripts, study notes, or presentations and want a quick idea of how long they might take to read out loud or silently.
All processing happens locally inside the popup. The extension does not read or modify any web pages, does not require special permissions, and does not send your text anywhere. You stay fully in control: you paste or type your text into the box, and the extension simply calculates statistics based on what you enter.
