DoomScroll Guardian - Stop the Spiral. Reclaim Your Attention.

DoomScroll Guardian is a mindfulness tool that helps you stay intentional online.

If you’ve ever opened one app “for a second” and looked up 40 minutes later, this extension is built for you.

DoomScroll Guardian combines real-time behavior sensing, mood inference, adaptive nudges, gentle resets, and a full Scrollytics™ dashboard to help you understand - and change - how you scroll.

🔥 Key Features
🧠 AI Mood Detection

Analyzes scrolling intensity and pace to estimate your emotional momentum - Calm, Escalating, or Spiral - and shows a friendly, real-time mood indicator on-screen.

⚠️ Adaptive Anti-Doomscroll Nudges

When scrolling becomes intense or prolonged, Guardian intervenes with supportive, non-judgmental prompts designed to interrupt autoplay-style spirals - without shaming or blocking.

👁️ Eye Breaks & 🌬️ Breathing Resets (Optional)

Gentle, 20–30 second “visual resets” and breathing prompts that help reduce eye strain and physiological stress during long sessions - Look away and relax your eyes

Slow your breathing and reset tension - Always optional and dismissible

🧭 Intentional Browsing Prompt (Optional)

At the start of a new session, Guardian can ask a simple question:

“What are you here for?”

A lightweight prompt that encourages conscious use before doomscrolling begins.

🔄 Session Reset

At any time, you can reset your current session from the popup or overlay - mentally marking a fresh start without disabling the extension.

🌙 Quiet Hours / No-Nudge Windows

Define time ranges where nudges and overlays are suppressed (work hours, meetings, evenings, etc.).

You stay in control of when Guardian speaks up.

⏱️ Max Scroll Cap (Optional)

Set a daily limit (60, 90, 120, or 180 minutes).
Guardian will notify you once per day when you reach your personal boundary.

📊 Scrollytics™ Dashboard

A clear, private breakdown of your browsing patterns:

- Total daily scroll minutes

- Nudges triggered

- Longest session

- Day-of-week behavior patterns

- Attention sinks (top domains)

- AI-generated insights

🗓 Daily & Weekly Summaries

- Optional mindful recaps showing:

- Total time scrolled

- Nudges received

- Journaling reflections

- Weekly totals and your lowest-scroll day

📝 In-the-Moment Reflection

During nudges, you can jot down a private note:
“What am I feeling right now? What led me here?”

All reflections are stored locally and never shared.

Master Enable / Disable

Temporarily disable DoomScroll Guardian entirely - no tracking, no UI, no nudges — and re-enable it anytime from the popup.

🔐 Privacy-First by Design

- No remote servers

- No tracking, no analytics, no ads - ever

- No data leaves your browser

- All stats and notes are stored locally on your device only

- You remain in full control of your data at all times.

🌱 Why It Works

Doomscrolling isn’t a lack of willpower - it’s emotional momentum.

DoomScroll Guardian introduces small, well-timed moments of awareness that help you notice patterns, reset gently, and choose intention over autopilot.

- Reclaim your time.
- Reclaim your attention.

Install DoomScroll Guardian and break the cycle.

*What’s new in 2.0.1

This update introduces complete Scrollytics™ analytics (heatmap, timeline, attention sinks, trigger patterns, and weekly behavior), improved mood-adaptive nudges, and major stability fixes for smoother, more accurate tracking.

*What’s new in 2.0.4

This update improves how DoomScroll Guardian detects and interrupts doomscrolling. Nudges now appear more reliably during real browsing sessions, with earlier, gentler check-ins to help you stay intentional before scrolling turns automatic. We’ve also fixed an issue that could prevent nudge pop-ups from appearing on some pages. Overall, nudges are faster, smarter, and more consistent - with no change to privacy (everything still stays on your device).

*What’s new in 2.1.4

This update completes DoomScroll Guardian’s reflection loop.

You can now view your daily reflections directly in the Scrollytics™ dashboard, see how your moods and notes correlate with intense scrolling moments, and receive richer weekly summaries that include reflection insights - not just time spent.

We’ve also added full control over your reflections:

- Export your journal as a local JSON file
- Clear today’s reflections or delete all entries at any time

As always, everything stays private and stored locally on your device.
