The single purpose of SearchPreview is to enhance your search results pages. It inserts site preview images (thumbnails) and popularity ranks into Google™, DuckDuckGo™, Yahoo™ and Bing™ searches. SearchPreview does not process or hold personal user data. SearchPreview only handles non-personal user data required for its features. If you turn off the features, no user data is transmitted or held. Please read the privacy policy for details.
New in Version 6.18:
- Fixed: Stopped working for Google search results (new Google format)
- Changed: Only show a preview image if Google doesn't already have an image for a search result (reduce clutter)
Permissions and why SearchPreview requires them:
- contextMenus : Add an image request update entry to the context menu
- storage: To remember your SearchPreviow options
- "https://*.searchpreview.de/";: Read information from the SearchPreview servers (Popularity Ranks)
- content_script access to all known google domains, bing.com, duckduck.com, search.yahoo.com: Needed to insert the preview images into the search results page

It better than just using my antivirus and showing is the website safe or not, because it doesn't mean it suspicious or not if i wanted to download something.. With the popularity bar, I can surf internet better with it:) btw I also like how this available on Firefox and Edge too :D

- (2021-04-15) John Thimakis: A most handy and useful extension. I have been using it for a long time without any problems except today there were no thumbnail previews. However it was solved almost immediately. I contacted the developer and they got back to within the hour but before even that, the extension had updated itself and was now working again. Upon reading the email from the developed, he informed me that a new version had been uploaded today.
