Adds browsing history to your search results.

Image from store Search Panel
Description from store The SearchPanel browser extension helps people manage their web search activity. It provides an unobtrusive interactive representation of the retrieved documents that can be used for sense-making, for navigation, and for re-finding documents. When you run a search, shows which pages you found before, which ones you viewed, and which are new to you. We ask for permission to access your browser history to integrate it with your search results. We ask for permission to modify your bookmarks for an experimental version we will be rolling out soon. Your bookmarks are only used for visualization; we never collect this information. For more information about this extension please see our web site at http://searchpanel.wordpress.com.

  • (2013-06-12) Simon Tretter: Cool way of navigating through the results. Also nice to perform the same query on different search engines! Really helps to find the right information!
  • (2013-06-12) Pernilla Qvarfordt: It is really nice. It allows me to go to other search results when not on the search page. Quicker than using the browser back-button!

  • (2014-11-25, v:0.81) Darren Cook: Option to hide/close search panel
Hi. Love this tool btw! When I open a new window, type in a search in the URL bar, the search panel pops up. All works well. But if I change the URL in the original tab, the panel sticks. Basically I'm done with searching and want to close the search panel, but there is no X button to click to hide it. Example (OSX): Cmd-N (new window) Type "blah" [enter]...see a google search page, see the search panel. Type Cmd-L (select the URL bar), and type "amazon.com[enter]" Amazon page loads...search panel still appears for "blah" results. I want to close it since I'm done with the "blah" search now. Thanks!
