HOW IT WORKS

Notabilia AI runs Google's Gemma 3n (4B parameters) entirely in your browser using WebGPU. On first launch, the model downloads once (~4.3GB). After that, everything runs offline - no internet required, no data sent anywhere.

Click the extension icon or press Cmd+Shift+S (Mac) / Ctrl+Shift+S (Windows) to open the AI assistant in Chrome's side panel. If the shortcut conflicts with another extension, you can customize it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Recommended:
- Mac with Apple Silicon (M1+)
- Windows PC with NVIDIA GTX 1650 / AMD RX 570 or better (4GB+ VRAM)

Minimum:
- Chrome 113+ with WebGPU support
- 16GB system RAM
- 5GB free disk space for model storage
- Dedicated GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650 / AMD RX 570 or better (4GB+ VRAM)
- Integrated GPU: AMD Radeon 780M or newer (Ryzen 7 8700G, Ryzen 7040/8040 series)

Note: Older or less powerful GPUs (Intel integrated graphics, older AMD APUs) may still work but will experience significantly slower response times. First-time setup requires internet to download the AI model.

GETTING STARTED

1. Install the extension
2. Click the Notabilia AI icon (or use the keyboard shortcut)
3. Wait for one-time model download (~4.3GB)
4. Start chatting - completely private and offline!

TIPS

Capture visual content using the action buttons below the input:
- "Snapshot Viewport" captures what's currently visible on the page
- "Snapshot Page" captures the entire scrollable page
- "Snapshot Area" lets you select a specific region to capture
- You can also paste images directly into the input box

Enable "Get Page Content" to let the AI read and understand your current webpage - great for summarization and Q&A.

Create custom prompt templates for repetitive tasks. Mark your most-used templates as favorites (up to 4) and they'll appear as quick-access buttons on the main screen.
