How it works

Add RSS feed URLs in the extension UI (supports multiple feeds). The extension fetches each feed and combines headlines into a single stream.
The ticker injects a small overlay (shadow DOM) at the top of the page; the overlay contains just the ticker UI and styles, keeping it isolated from the page’s CSS.
Headlines are fetched in the background on a schedule. The ticker updates only when new items are available, avoiding unnecessary re-displays.
Clicking the ticker hides it for the current page view. Refreshing the page resets that temporary hide so the ticker returns.

Privacy & security

RSS feeds you add are fetched by the extension’s background script; feed URLs and fetched headlines are stored locally using your browser’s storage API.
No third-party sharing: feed URLs and headline data remain on your device and are not transmitted to external services by the extension itself.
If the extension uses a proxy/fetch service, it will be disclosed in the extension details (check the permissions and privacy notes in the listing).
Permissions

Storage: to save your feed list and preferences.
Alarms: to schedule background refreshes of RSS feeds.
ActiveTab / host permissions (if required): used only to inject the ticker into pages and to enable the content script to run on pages you visit; the extension does not collect browsing history.

Quick start

Install the extension.
Open the extension popup (click the toolbar icon).
Add one or more RSS feed URLs (e.g., https://example.com/rss).
Adjust speed and font size if desired.
The ticker will appear at the top of pages you visit and start scrolling the latest headlines.

Notes and advanced usage

The ticker uses a per-page temporary hide (click to hide); refreshing the page restores the ticker so you can easily re-enable it.
If you manage many feeds, headlines are merged and tagged internally so separators indicate when the source changes, improving readability.
To pause updating temporarily, you can disable the extension or remove all feed URLs; defaults will appear when no feeds are present.
