Extension for protecting encrypted browsing with security products by F-Secure.
Security products by F-Secure require this browser extension to be able to protect your web browsing, online banking and shopping, and to show you security information while you are browsing the internet.
Browsing Protection is an extension that provides HTTPS protocol support for the installed security products by F-Secure. The extension enables the Banking Protection functionality as well as rating icons and the SafeSearch mode for search engines when HTTPS is used. In addition, unwanted web content delivered using HTTPS can be handled with a block page.
To install the extension, select Get > Add extension. If the extension is already installed but disabled, select Turn on to enable it.

- I've been using F-Secure and related extension on Chrome and Edge for years. All I know is that the system is simple and appears to get on with things - namely protection and hopefully, touch wood, that's why I've had two decades trouble free.

- Terrible product from Far-East, as F-Secure no longer is neither from Finland nor a professional company with quality products. Using the F-Secure VPN it often blocks the entire Internet access until I click it off for the Internet to start working, then I have to click it back on to keep my system somewhat safe...which is not possible as F-Secure's outdated and poorly working VPN does not work even remotely as well as any other competitor, and it is the only one in my decades long experience with VPNs that doesn't work in Finland, slows down the entire band with and makes my tabletop and laptop and smartphone all slow as h*ll, and makes me mad of the fact that I even bought this 3rd tier service again as the mobile operator offered it for so cheap. You can never get a good quality service or product cheap, as there are no cheap and good products, only cheap products and good products. Although even F-Secure's most expensive services and products are nowadays baaaad. Do not waste a single cent, Euro or USD on any of their products. This problem has been ongoing so far for at least 3 years. On all OSs, all devices and all the Finnish mobile operators have admitted they know of the fact F-Secure VPN works sub-par...but knowing this they still have chosen to sell it. Fun to live in Finland, where these formerly-Finnish companies nowadays just scam their customers. Like F-Secure and Telia (and Elisa and DNA) do.

- Suddenly couldn't access anything like links from emails, pictures on banking site. I'm uninstalling it. Jeez! Is there a way to fix it?
- Charlee Ceejay
- Think of the many websites which verify that you are a human and not a bot before enabling access to them. I'm disappointed that (recently) Security Suite will not allow CAPTHA or reCAPTHA access to some of them.
- Kevin Griboski
- Not a good product it would freeze up some web sites like chatGPT and eBay. But on the other hand it did block a harmful web site

- Why does this app keep asking me to setup my browser when I have already done this repeatedly?

- This F-Secure is horrible! I had it on and I couldn't get into my social security website, my HSA website, my health insurance website and even my bank account. It blocked everything! Of course no one can get in if I couldn't even get in. It would even block me from going into amazon. Even after adding these websites to the approved list, I would still be blocked. I was able to go into amazon but the images wouldn't open and the whole layout was weird. I couldn't use my computer to take care of any business. I had to use my phone or tablet. Finally I had to call spectrum and they showed me how to turn the extension off. I want to be protected when browsing, but not at the expense of being block from every site.

- Have been using F-Secures security software suite for many years. Works great for me.

- Complicated installation.

- I have used F-Secure on my devices since Spectrum first added their security suite as an option. I have never had a virus on my devices since using this product. I do still get Spam emails, but they don't worry me as much as getting a virus.

- I've been using F-Secure for the best part of 20 years on all my devices and I've never had any major issues regarding security or privacy which has to be the test in my mind at the end of the day. It's become quite clear to me that some of the other bigger players such as Norton or McAfee employ underhand / misleading marketing tactics to muscle in on smaller players such as 'fake' review articles that are unduly biased due to financial contributions etc whereas this company does not.

- I'm not sure what this extension does. All I know is every time I start my computer, a window opens that tells me I need to install this extension. Then when I click the button to start it, it takes me to a page that only gives me the option to remove the extension from Chrome. I'm getting tired of this. Either I need to install it, or need to remove it, or I'm getting a message that is incorrect.

- I have security suite through Spectrum. Today I called because I keep getting popup saying... remove useless files, virus found, system error, trojan virus-McAfee(I DO NOT HAVE McAfee) , someone is downloading files from your computer, they are on side but still bothersome, now saying critical virus Alert Google Chrome. Why is my extension browsing protectiion not working.

- Nagging pop-up wants to update. But you cannot update. Popup continues!
- Mike Blake
- I also had the bogus browser extension issue on my WINDOWS 11 machine so I checked with SPECTRUM. They advised me to reload their SECURITY SUITE, which uses F-SECURE. While chatting with the service tech on-line, I got a notice that SECURITY SUITE was updated to 25.5. I backed out of the browsers and the issue has gone away. Sounds like an update was needed. My WINDOWS 10 machine didn't exhibit this issue.

- This sucks. It keeps telling me to update. But, there is not update or way to navigate to the update? Sucks
- Craig Gainza
- Getting recurring popup saying that I need to add extension to chrome, but it was previously added. I removed the extension and added again and popup keeps occuring

- I've never had a problem with Windows 10 / Google Chrome but since F-Secure did the update this month, it's blocking most of the websites I've gone to for years. Very disappointed in the update whatever it did because now all the blocks are saying banking protection. Now seeking alternative for browsing protection. I wish they had just let us decide to update or not.

- Keeps telling me I need to add to my browser but have already added it to the browser.
- Nathan Jennings
- Same issue as everyone else....tired of the repeated prompts to set up the extension when it is already active. I'm giving it 2 more months then I'm just deleting it and gonna find an alternative.
- Sheila
- I really liked F Secure until the problem with the browsing protection message that comes up every time I log on, even though it's already set up. I know it's a problem a lot of users are getting - and it's driving me mad! So much, that I'm thinking of changing my online protection. Come on F Secure, it can't be that hard to sort this out!
- Sean L
- Sick of getting prompts to add it when its already added.
- Alex Epstein
- This may be a great add-on. However, the inconvenience of having a pop up install reminder appear each time a browser is opened (it is already installed and active) - makes it a royal pain that I want to delete.

- When is the fix coming?
- Felix Arroyo
- For some reason F-Secure on windows keeps prompting me and asking me to set up the plugin for chrome. Its already set up! and always has been but starting about few months ago it keeps asking me and prompting me . Its set up and never been disabled

- This is ridiculous! Now I understand why Spectrum includes F-Secure for free.
- sdcoffeeroaster
- F-secure just started asking me to install in chrome many times. It is already installed and working . Tried uninstalling F-secure and chrome over and over. NOTHING seems to fix this and ready to buy Norton again.
- Kev kitching
- Get a grip F Secure and resolve this issue.
- Mike Dunfield
- Constantly pops up saying that it needs to be installed on Google Chrome. It's installed and the pop up again.
- Michael Chanak Jr
- I''ve installed this browser extenion on both Edge and Chrome. They are active, and yet the Security app that Spectrum gives their internet customer for free - which prompts me to add these extensions - DOES NOT SEEM to recognize the extensions are already installed? So everytime I open the security app - I'm greeted by this message to install the extensions. This seems to be of recent origin - I've uninstalled extensions, removed the Security Suite supplied by Spectrum, restarted system. Reinstalled Security Suite, added the extensions to Chrome and Edge - and STILL the security app acts as if it doesn't see the added extensions. Yet, checking with Chrome and Edge- there are the extensions - and are working? Michael

- Every startup, it keeps giving me a pop up stating that I need to set up the Chrome extension ... despite that I already have the extension set up. Clicking the "do not ask again" button doesn't work either. It keeps happening.
- Bob Patton
- Ridiculous daily pop-ups. Awful.
- C. M.C.
- Since 2 weeks keep asking (a few times a day!) to set up Chrome extension and the Do not ask again button does not work :-(
- Andre Chay
- NOT WORKING
- Mike Krol
- Security Suite not for me. Forced upon me by TW. At least is free. "Don't Ask Me Again" is BS
- Silent Fox
- Would have given a 5-star review if it would stop begging me to install it multiple times a day when it's already installed. STOP!! "Don't Ask Me Again" is not working!
- Gerald Sexton
- It is a good extension. No complaints about the operation. But can you PLEASE stop with the dailly pop-up bugging me to install the Chrome extension when it is already installed!
- Rob Bokma
- It keeps asking me to set it up voor Chrome while it is already done.

- No problem using it, plus it gives you confident no program or up will be active while using sensitive content on your computer, like when you are bancking, or using the Social Security web site or Asensus, etc. A thin green frame shows on every screen your computer have when active. As zoon as you exit the sinsitive content web site, that green frame desapiers meaning that the protection is done and you can keep browsing.
- Louis Neal
- It's great except Chrome will not allow f-secure to install it's extension
