  • (2025-07-07) Still works after 1st July and has helped me combat fake reviews before I make purchases on Amazon. BUT it's mostly just very much a big MISS as you can have the same product, with the same amount of reviews but different colours and it'll give you different outcomes....
  • (2025-07-05) Was invaluable, but is now abandonware.
  • (2025-07-03) The letter grades continue to show, but the "Analyze Reviews" no longer works. I'm gonna keep this extension loaded simply for the grades.
  • (2025-07-01) Fared well. RIP
  • (2025-06-30) Sad to see FakeSpot go, it's saved me from so many shady purchases. 🫤 I'm working on an open source replacement, though I'll need to charge a few dollars a month to keep it going after a free beta. If anyone's interested, there's a simple landing page for it at truestar.pro if you want to get notified when it's released.
  • (2025-06-25) Even if they charge 1$ or 2$ per month, that would get them around $100,000 - $200,000 per month to keep this going. Hope devs gives out a paid subs to help it stay alive.
  • (2025-06-21) I always used Fakespot! So sad that Mozilla are discontinuing and shutting it down this July. It has served me, and thousands of others, well. Farewell, Fakespot. You've done a service.
  • (2025-06-20) Great web extension. I wish there was something out there as good as this that I could use once this one leaves.
  • (2025-06-09) I've used Fakespot for many years and now that it is shutting down, I realize I took it for granted. It's incredible for making Amazon purchases more reliable, reducing returns, etc. If lack of profitability is the issue, why not make the free version very limited and create a paid "Pro" version with upgraded features (the ones we enjoy free now) for a modestly priced subscription that happy users will gladly pay (e.g., $5/year)?
  • (2025-06-09) You are the best bro don't go ❤🧡
  • (2025-05-31) Loved this extension. thanks to the developers for the several years of well informed purchases!
  • (2025-05-31) Loved this app! Used it for every purchase! I hate fake, bot, and AI reviews. Feels like the company is scamming me. Very sad to see this go, wish I knew why. Hope there is an alternative soon. Goodbye Fakespot! You will be missed!
  • (2025-05-31) I am so sorry it is gone. This what gave me the idea on trying to develop digdep.com to figure which supplements on amazon etc work for medical conditions!
  • (2025-05-30) This is my fav extension! Don't go!!! Anyone else have any recommendations for a replacement?
  • (2025-05-30) I won't buy something on Amazon unless I know the product or I go on my PC and check the FakeSpot grade. Very sad to see this go.
  • (2025-05-30) This extension has helped me out on more than one occasion, spotting multiple 'reviews' from the same ip address or email address. Was sorry to read it was being discontinued.
  • (2025-04-20) Not supporting my country
  • (2025-04-07) I sell on eBay and have a 100% positive feedback score with 1373 transactions, most of which have been sales. Yet for some reason this extension gave ME a certified "Seller Caution by Fakespot Guard" claiming I had no seller history. I have literally hundreds of well written reviews that go into detail what was purchased from me, speed of delivery, attention to customer service, ect. So if this garbage extension got me dead wrong how can I possibly believe anything it "warns" me of? It's all a bunch of gibberish b.s. The irony of being called fakespot while being fake itself is almost to much. ......10+ pages of reviews, top rated seller for past 3 years.......ridiculous to give me a warning saying no history!! See for yourself Eriecomics@eBay
  • (2025-04-04) I am not sure what happened in mid 2024 but this extension started making chrome almost unusable. It freezes chrome for a few seconds when closing a single tab, and close to half a minute when closing multiple tabs. Shame because I like the extension it self, but I cant keep this enabled for day to day use if it makes my browser so laggy.
  • (2025-03-29) Great extension for Amazon and Sephora (especially). Only issue is recently it seems to have stopped remembering my settings like default sort of "highest to lowest" and I have to manually click "no sorting" and then "highest to lowest" to make it actually sort.
  • (2025-03-27) It seems to work but not with amazon.ae I use this one and when i checked with amazon.com it does work. So guys try to integrate it with amazon.ae and etc too :)
  • (2025-03-22) I appreciate the service, but this extension CHOKES my system. It's so intensive that my whole system freezes every time I close tabs. I have disabled it, will give it another try in a month or two, and if things are not better, I will delete it forever. Can't have this.
  • (2025-03-13) Code is obfuscated which Google prohibits, it has a lot of permissions on popular e-Commerce websites... which is scary if we can't easily tell what the extension does.
  • (2025-01-30) No longer supports HTTPS links.. making it.. pretty useless.
  • (2025-01-30) If I'm on an Amazon product detail page and click the extension icon to display the extension's UI, if I then click "Analyze this product," a new browser tab opens that appears to have a properly formed URL (at fakespot[dot]com, with a query parameter called URL that gets the value of the Amazon product page I was viewing before clicking "Analyze this product"). For whatever reason, every single time I click this "Analyze this product" button within the extension's UI, that new tab that opens displays "Server Error" and nothing else. When I look at the network call that gets made when loading that page, the response is always "503 Service Unavailable," so I was thinking maybe Fakespot were experiencing an outage on their end. However, if I copy the same URL that throws a 503 for me into another browser (in this case, Firefox) the URL loads just fine and takes me to the Fakespot page for the product I was viewing, so this is not an outage on Fakespot's side. There's something fundamentally wrong with how the Fakespot extension tries to trigger an analysis when clicking that "Analyze this product" button within the Chrome extension's UI. As it stands today - Thursday, January 30th - arguably the most important function of the Chrome extension simply doesn't work. Cannot recommend.
  • (2025-01-16) this should be mandatory for anyone using amazon! I now automatically ignore every "new seller alert" - way too many alphabet soup companies springing up.
  • (2025-01-03) I love this extension. It helps me determine whether the reviews (bad or good) can be trusted. So far, I've done some of my own research and it seems pretty accurate. You have to use a little common sense when using this service. An "A" rating doesn't mean it's a good product, it just means the reviews appear to be trustworthy, so if the reviews are more negative, you can bet that an average person will feel the same. For people saying it's useless, i think RTFM is in order.
  • (2024-12-08) Useless on the sites I've checked. On eBay it will verify a seller with a low rating, and flag a seller with a perfect 100% feedback rating, and also give false information ("item in different location than seller" "seller does not have return policy" etc. ) Not a trust-worthy app, which is ironic
  • (2024-12-07) Absolutely useless. It gives a product I have been using for a long time a rating of F just because it has not enough reviews.
  • (2024-11-23) Works OK with Amazon, throws false red flags on eBay
  • (2024-11-22) Completely fake. This plugins tricks you into thinking it will actually detect fake reviews when it actually literally confirmed a scam sellers as being trusted and reviews I know for a fact are fake as being "highlights"
  • (2024-11-18) Wouldn't shop anything on Amazon without Fakespot! So useful and awesome tool for online shoppers.
  • (2024-11-08) Used to be useful, but in the past 6 months or so I have noticed some problems. First, it flags MY OWN EBay account as supposedly "not in the same location as items listed" (or some such nonsense). I checked my EBay account, and everything is correct, so FakeSpot is throwing up a false red flag, which may be affecting my sales, if others are using the extension. Second, whenever I visit Instagram, my browser (the latest build of Chrome) gets forwarded to "bestadperf.com". I did a bit of sleuthing and discovered that others on the TechSupport subreddit have found that "bestadperf.com" is connected with FakeSpot and by removing FakeSpot, the redirect goes away. And that is what I am about to do, but I first wanted to write a review (since Chrome won't let you leave one after you've uninstalled an extension).
  • (2024-11-07) I have tried this extension yet but was hoping to do so for Amazon purchases. You see, for years, I did most of my online shopping with Amazon.com and had to pay some hefty shipping import fees for having my orders be delivered to South Africa. Amazon has recently opened for online use the Amazon.co.za domain, meaning that I can now make my purchases from Amazon, and can get them delivered faster and without expensive shipping and import fees. Only AMAZON.CO.ZA is not recognized by this extension. I' guess I'm hoping they see it and add support for the .CO.ZA domain.
  • (2024-10-13) Works well so far. Needed a plugin like this for a long time. Add more stores to the analysis and it will be perfect.
  • (2024-10-12) Extension won't work on Amazon.de -- every time I analyze, I get "Server Error".
  • (2024-10-01) Stopped working recently only showing "Analysis not available: Not enough reviews" for every product. Was good when it worked.
  • (2024-10-01) Good product, but I feel like the seller reviews are kind of off most of the time. I've had some really good luck with products that are rated incredibly poorly.
  • (2024-09-24) So far so good. It's been helping "pre-screen" the products I want to research further and has yet to become annoying.
  • (2024-09-24) it was work perfectly before but now its not reviewing any product but if you try to Reanalysis it alwas say for all product review "Reanalysis not possible at this time."
  • (2024-09-20) Great extension to help you sort through the clutter when shopping online. Total game changer for an online world filled with no name products and shady reviews.
  • (2024-09-09) I love it. Works all the time.
  • (2024-09-08) I could use it once and then it stopped working
  • (2024-09-02) Very helpful to know if reviews are genuine. Bad Fakespot rating, no buy!
  • (2024-08-31) Very helpful tool.
  • (2024-08-27) Amazon reviews are full of bots and paid reviews that make shopping way harder than it should be. Use this app to see what actual people say about a product.
  • (2024-08-20) the best extension which every Shopper needs, works great and every site reviews analyses easily
  • (2024-08-18) Works great on Amazon by removing ads, so you can quickly see what your actually looking for. The rest works good too. Happy I installed it. Recommended family to get as well. GJ Developer!!
  • (2024-08-16) It seems useful, but not sure if the analysis is reliable. The main issue is ‘server error" happends too often when reanlyzing reviews.
  • (2024-08-10) Not only does it warn you about fake reviews, it warns you about sellers that have poor reviews, and there's even an on-screen button to purchase the same item from a seller who gets better reviews!
