  • (2023-11-28) Ethan Smart: Love it. I mean I never write reviews and I took the time because it is the best. especially ADHD people like me who forget to cancel subscriptions to be able to spin up a card and limit the usage. The extension works great too every time without issues. Love it.
  • (2023-11-09) Brady Mathieson: Hey! I love Privacy as a service, but on every device I try to install this extension on, I click the button in the extensions bar and nothing happens. I've tried reinstalling it over and over and it won't work for me.
  • (2023-11-01) Lonnie McNerney: I use Privacy religiously. While it is free, I pay for the premium version, although most people have no need for this. In my case the 1% cash back from premium pays more than the cost of the premium. I love the control, being able to pause a card and set limits using a variety of option. Best yet, you can easily create a credit card to be used at a shady place for a new purchase, then it is done for. You cannot be charged a second time as the card is one time use. I do wish that you could link to multiple bank accounts and setup cards for different accounts (IE: if I buy online for my wife, the charge goes to the shared account and now she knows how much I spent on her gift). I would also LOVE to be able to link these to samsung pay or google pay so that I can use it in person instead of only online. But to prevent unauthorized transactions where the company refuses to take action (LOOKING AT YOU MICROSOFT) this is golden. Pause the card, or delete it and create a new one if you think it got stolen. It is as easy as that.
  • (2023-10-31) bav pav: Works exactly as you would expect it to. I feel I have ran into a few instances where the vendor has a way to know it is a virtual card and won't accept it, but outside of that it is excellent. Perfect for signing up for free trials, and companies that try to obfuscate the cancellation process; "No 'Anytime Fitness, I will not be coming into the closest location to have rep cancel my membership, I will just delete the card I used!"
  • (2023-10-30) Nathan Long: I cannot say enough good about this service. It is the single greatest innovation to protect monetary privacy and security in recent history. It's merchant-dedicated cards prevent fraud. It enables one to never have to request a new debit card from your bank again. You can now freely accept a free offer without worrying about whether you will forget and be charged an exorbitant amount at the end of the free period. Again, I can't say enough, but there is plenty more to say!
  • (2023-10-13) Nick Sweeting: Company and product is amazing but new version of the extension has a bunch of rough edges. The Privacy icon pops up in almost every TOTP and numerical form field now, making it really hard to fill out forms without it getting in the way. It also frequently fails to autofill real CC form fields, making the user resort to copy/paste. If it's going to need copy pasting either way I would rather it not pop up at all inside of form fields. Also there is no good way to get *all* your transactions in a list or as a CSV, you're forced to view only a few months at a time or spend hours trying to infiniscroll years back, makes it very hard to do expenses or taxes.
  • (2023-10-09) Ross Schmidt: This service has been a godsend saving me a couple times now from those shady web sites that like to offer super cheap this or that and will try to charge you after you thought you were done with them. Using once only CCs has been awesome.
  • (2023-10-02) Christopher Brendel: I really enjoy purchasing items under the pseudonym Chuck Norris, paired with the ability to choose literally any address in the world and not having to pay sales taxes on most digital purchases. To the person living in New Hampshire whose address I use because they are a sales tax-free state, sorry for any junk mail you may be receiving on behalf of Mr. Norris. On a serious note, these burner cards are fantastic. If you're worried about Privacy having your banking details, you can set up a separate account and pus funds to it as needed. I, however, have not gone this route and I have also not had any issues. One last feature? Okay. Those stupid free trials that require a credit card - problem solved!
  • (2023-09-29) Michael Cunningham: this new version of the extension doesn't work as well as the previous version. It used to bring to the top of the list a card that matched the web site you were on, but now you have to scroll thru the whole list to find your card. And once you find the card you need, you can't change any of the setting of that card without going to the web site. Please add these features back to the extension.
  • (2023-09-27) Dennis Byrum: Hands down the best financial tool that I use. It is simple and easy yet provides me with the peace of mind when it comes to using my credit cards online. Only wish I had found it earlier!
  • (2023-09-13) Daemon “Daethyra”: This FREE service is necessary for online protection. With Privacy, and a password manager, you'll have SO MUCH LESS to worry about being leaked by hackers.
  • (2023-08-05) Michael Carr: Love this service.
  • (2023-07-25) Alan Richtmyer: What an amazing service. After having my card details leaked a few times I wondered if there was a way to get virtual numbers for my debit card just like I can do for my credit cards. Finding Privacy was the perfect solution. I can now make a unique virtual card for every merchant I shop at. The ability to lock your privacy card to a single merchant is a game changer. After doing this I am already receiving alerts from Privacy that someone tried to use a locked card somewhere else, which is indicative of a breach at that vendor (im looking at your Etsy). So Privacy has already saved me $700 in attempted fraud! Both the extension and the app area easy to use and make protecting my accounts trivial.
  • (2023-07-13) Pam Hammond: Privacy is a great tool to use online and be safe.
  • (2023-07-04) James Amberson: Privacy.com is easy to use, simple to set up, and straight-forward to manage. A friend recommended it, and I use it for both my own finances and those of my senior citizen mother for whom I have financial power of attorney. With Privacy.com it doesn't matter how many debit cards she looses, as all her bills are now paid using this highly secure and simple system. I strongly recommend Privacy.com to anyone who wants a simple way to securely manage their own payments or the payments of family, friends, or coworkers/employees. THANK YOU, Privacy.com!
  • (2023-06-27) Faan Code: This is THE solution for online payments and managing recurring bill payments. Each vendor gets their own card that is only good for that vendor, so when the next data breach happens the stolen card number is useless. Awesome spend controls for vendors that don't stop billing you i.e. able to pause card, set charge limits, etc. A must when dealing with vendors that charge you without notice e.g. free 30-day trial offerings. Awesome privacy feature is that billing ZIP code and address does not matter so again online merchants cannot profile you when using trial period services. The chrome plugin and mobile app makes it a breeze to use "burner" card numbers. Awesome support team and after using for 2 years now run $5k/month of recurring spend of all my bills through this service. Happily pay the $10/month for the Pro service that pays for itself and more with the cash back option, and peace of mind of priority support.
  • (2023-06-26) Christian Amaro: Great tool, used it for almost 4 years now. Couldnt ask for better way to protect our business from shared information. We just create new card for each service we are testing.
  • (2023-05-24) Michael Rose: A few years ago, my credit card was compromised due to a data breach from an online store. Big nightmare. With the Privacy app, I'm in control. Every merchant gets a virtual card with limits I control. The $10 Pro version gives me peace of mind and protects my online activities. The transaction masking (NSA Gift Shop) still makes me smile. Must have application!
  • (2023-05-06) Karl Welch: I don't have a credit card, so I try to use PayPal most of the time to protect my debit card and checking account unfortunately more and more I find places where that is not possible, and I need to expose my debit card. Enter Privacy, I can spin up a store specific card in seconds and make a transaction without exposing my account. This is great for proactive spending limits like the envelope method or even allowing a someone to have a "sub account" with limits. But best of all and much to my surprise when I was scammed on one site, no only was my card not exposed thanks to Privacy but the even did a dispute and refunded my money. So glad I found this invaluable financial tool.
  • (2023-05-01) Eilene Stevens: This is one of the most perfect apps I have ever used. It was easy to set up and use. Most important, I feel safe using it. I have had my credit card number stolen and do not want to go through that again. Love, love, love this app.
  • (2023-04-25) Omry Yadan: The service is awesome: You get to create ad hoc credit cards on demand that are funded by your bank account. You can place limits (single use, monthly limit etc) on each card. This is particularly useful when you have those pesky subscriptions that likes to suddenly increase the charge when the promotion ends; With a privacy.com card they just fail to charge and then you get to decide what to do about it. Another cool use case is when you have to give a card to someone, either as a gift or to buy something. Using a privacy.com ad hoc card you can limit it to the desired amount, and you don't risk your actual card.
  • (2023-04-09) Harrison Koch: I absolutely love Privacy.com! It is everything it says it is and more. I never have issues using it for payment, and the security I gain by using is invaluable! As an added benefit, I can also better track expenses, frivolous purchases and more and I now have a much better idea where my money is going! The extension adds that extra bit of convenience that makes the whole Privacy.com ecosystem a winner. Love it!
  • (2023-03-30) Luke: I've been using Privacy.com regularly for 2 years now and I find it most useful for managing all my subscription services. Prior to this, I've never felt so in control of knowing where all of my recurring payments are coming from and now I have peace of mind using that same degree of control to approve or discontinue payments at my leisure, all from one website.
  • (2023-03-16) Greg Brennan: I have used Privacy for more than a year now for almost all online transaction. It is very convenient and though I haven't had any card frauds - virtual or otherwise - during this period the service has performed flawlessly and almost seamlessly with my online transactions. Perhaps one in thirty shopping cart designs foil Privacy's attempts to detect where it should insert its card data - so you have to cut and paste - but that's the worst thing I have to say about the product.
  • (2023-03-15) Greg Newell: If you ever buy anything online, especially from an unfamiliar source, you NEED PRIVACY .COM. Never give up your credit card information again. Create a card with Privacy.com, set the limits for card use and you can manage your risk and still buy cool stuff.
  • (2023-03-07) Shawn Wang: Genuinely a very solid extension
  • (2023-03-03) Wesley Willis: I use this religiously. If you ever sign up for trials with services that make it difficult to cancel, USE PRIVACY and pause the card. Not only that, Privacy helps keep your real card secure and if there's ever a breach you know exactly where it came from and can kill the virtual card immediately. This is a service I use daily, along with the phone app, and handles my payments (and any refunds I may receive) beautifully!
  • (2023-03-02) Shia Rubin: I use it almost every day It is just great I keep telling people about it and they are amazed.
  • (2023-03-01) Adam Takvam: If you're not using Privacy, you're doing life wrong. Don't trust random China drop shippers with your real card info. Use Privacy and have peace of mind that someone in Mongolia isn't going on a spending spree at your expense.
  • (2023-02-19) Andrew Goudzwaard: One of the best free services out there. I really can't complain, but It'd be great if I could create cards that can be used at multiple merchants and it isn't obvious when my monthly/daily cards are eligible for another transaction. However, moving all of my online purchases to Privacy was worth the effort.
  • (2023-02-16) Elijah Elkins: Great! Works easy and helps me keep my card info safe online and with spend management.
  • (2023-02-07) Nussy Felberbaum: Easy to use, and it's not disturbing like other companies of those kinds that are abusing it.
  • (2023-02-07) Kevin Sherard: I use this service for most online payments and it's great. With companies losing data all the time, it's a no brainer. There's a hidden benefit that I don't think people realize. If your physical card/debit is lost or stolen, or simply expires, you normally need to go login to every service and update your card information/autopay to the new card. In privacy, you just update the root card and that's it.
  • (2023-02-06) Matt Wetzel: I loved it! It was the most helpful thing out there!
  • (2023-02-02) Mike Abbott: This is most likely the single most useful tool for online shopping I've found. Takes the guess work out of who is billing for what due to the notifications you receive when anything is charged. Love this and would recommend.
  • (2023-02-02) Barton McGee: In the interest of disclosure I use privacy through my Firefox browser. Its been a year and half or so now and no complaints. Its easy to use and other than a slight glitch in getting it loaded and functioning in the beginning I haven't had to contact tech support for help. Definitely get it.
  • (2023-01-31) Josh: Very solid and invaluable free service, but the app/extension can be excruciatingly slow at times. It can take upwards of minutes just to get it to load a single cards information, even at off-peak hours. Otherwise the service is amazing.
  • (2023-01-20) Bobby Hodges: This service is a hidden gem.
  • (2023-01-17) David Stillson: I dont purchase anything online anymore without using this service. I love how I get email alerts for all the transactions that come through. I recommend this to all my friends.
  • (2022-12-31) Oleksii Chekulaiev: The service itself is amazing, 10 out of 10. The Chrome Extension though is 6 out of 10. It works... kinda. But the form is often broken or not popping up properly, and extension often clashes with other extensions like 1password.
  • (2022-12-27) Jamie Stagg: Fantastic, has saved me money from subscriptions changing prices unexpectedly and protected me from being charged fraudulently. I use Privacy on nearly every purchase I make and for sure on every new website I order from.
  • (2022-12-17) Robert Beaulieu: Great way to protect from data breaches and if you keep being charged for something you declined just delete the card or put it on pause to get the vendors attention. Tallys purchases made to give you an idea where you are spending the most. I was always hesitant about putting my CC online not anymore. I like it a lot!
  • (2022-12-15) Derek Johnson: Easy to use, trustworthy, and helps keep me safe from data breaches. I'm in control of my cards usages - how often it can be used, for what dollar amount, and what company. Home Depot has a data breach? Just delete the card. Or, generate a one-time use card that automatically closes after your purchase. It only takes a couple clicks. I love it and use it quite often, especially for those monthly/annual renewals. Now I'm in control.
  • (2022-03-15) KCSanDiego: This site has already saved me from have to get a new credit card number. I use it whenever I make an online purchase. Once the initial purchase is charged I simply pause or cancel the card so it cannot be used again. On more than one occasion, additional charges were attempted against the canceled card. I highly recommend using it.
  • (2022-03-14) Daniel J Clark: Wonderful service, only suggested improvement would be to integrate it with more 3rd party password manager apps, 1password gets 3 stars here while lastpass, which I use, gets 4.5, so not going to change.
  • (2022-03-05) Heath Brown: This is the best financial extension to ever exist and I am a super software geek! The ability to create unlimited cards with limits gives you the option to create unlimited trials and never get billed. Note: Some site no longer accept pre-paid cards. If you are looking for an alternative, then look into Blur as they say they don't use pre-paid card but they also aren't free. I haven't tried it. But Privacy.com.... You ROCK! If you could switch from pre-paid cards to some other method, you would be the best ever!
  • (2022-03-03) Reece Anderson: Not only does this allow you to protect your credit card number while online, it also allows you to: Stop subscription services without having to go through a sometimes needlessly long and annoying process Helps you to manage your money better as it is another step between me and impulse buying It helps me see where my money is going Seriously can't recommend this service enough. Now if only I could get an nfc card that I could link to the app for in-person purchases...
  • (2022-03-03) Patrick Kennedy: Privacy does better than Chrome's autofill most of the time! I've been using Privacy for about 9 months now and it's been flawless. It provides such peace of mind that if I ever have to replace my debit card I won't risk forgetting to update an important bill.
  • (2022-02-28) Aubrey Walker: so helpful for so many things, but mainly because im forgetful when signing up for trials. I want try stuff, but I find i often am turned away because I think I'll forget about the recurring charge , this solves it and is a great companion
  • (2022-02-22) Emmanuel Anne Marie: Just fantastic. Very reassuring, especially when used with one time purchases
