Image from store CO2ok.Ninja
Description from store CO₂ok Ninja enables you to make your online purchases climate neutral by letting the online shop donate a small amount to environmental charity. As a savvy online shopper, you know exactly where to get the latest fashion in jeans or the perfect new smartphone. But what about the greenhouse gases emitted during production and transport of your online purchases? You can help fighting climate change with little effort and no extra costs. Simply install the extension, with one click and press the CO₂ok Ninja “SHOP CO₂ok” button during your online shopping and you compensate the greenhouse gases emitted to get your product made and into your hands. ------------- How it works Using CO₂ok Ninja means you only have to press the button which says “Shop CO₂ok”. After which you will be asked to confirm your choice, and then you will be redirected back to the store. So when you buy something, CO₂ok receives a commission (usually between 2-5%) depending on the store and donates it to their certified partners in fighting climate change. We keep a quarter of this commission – not to get rich – but we need it to grow and to make as much impact in the fight against climate change as possible. The amount the online shop donate is used to finance sustainable energy and CO₂-emission reduction projects (via our certified partners). These projects actively reduce the amount of emitted CO₂, thereby making your purchase climate neutral! In fact, the compensation amount often generates surplus, so in fact your purchase becomes carbon negative! This way you’re making a real difference benefiting the environment! CO₂ok supports a variety of CO₂ compensation projects, coordinated by Atmosfair and Fair Climate Fund. 90% of Atmosfair’s projects are certified with the CDM Gold Standard, which is the most stringent standard for climate protection projects. In addition, Atmosfair creates micro projects for countries that don’t meet those standards. FairClimateFund finances projects which both reduce carbon emissions and also offer a better future to the most vulnerable. They focus on investing in projects for clean cooking methods for households in developing countries in line with Fairtrade principles. They also invest in community owned climate projects in developing countries, such as the installation of 12,000 biogas digesters for rural households in India.
