A free/libre and open-source (FLOSS) podcast aggregator for Chrome

Image from store podStation Podcast Player
Description from store podStation is a simple RSS podcast aggregator (or should I say a podcatcher?). Just add your feeds in the main page or use the search tool and be happy. Features: * Global media control support * Fully functional audio player, it plays in background and offers control over the playback rate (speed), both faster and slower. * Continuous play, go directly to the next episode when the current one ends. * Playlist * Podcast search (using Digital Podcast, iTunes and Podcastindex.org) * Import your feeds from OPML files * Detects feeds in pages you visit (the icon will change when a feed is found) * Synchronize your data using your google account and use it in any Chrome instance, like at home and work (it syncs feed list, episode progress, player options and playlist) * Integration with the Screen Shader extension (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/screen-shader/fmlboobidmkelggdainpknloccojpppi) Note on permissions: * "Read and modify all your data on all websites you visit" - That is necessary for us to download the RSS feeds and detect feeds in websites. We do not read YOUR data from any web site, nor do we modify it. This is a work in progress, if you find issues or have feature requests, please let us know through the About page of the extension or the report bug function. iTunes is a trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.

  • (2025-04-27) Ersin Ertürk: The perfect podcast player! It lets you play all the episodes from all the podcasts you've subscribed to, in order and without interruption, starting from the oldest, while remembering where you left off. I'm using it to listen to podcasts with thousands of episodes, filled with casual conversations in various accents, for English fluency practice in the background while working. I do this by starting with the oldest episode of all and selecting "Next/Previous: From Last Episodes," checking "Continue Playing," and unchecking "Play in Reverse Order." While playing, the app saves the last played point every few seconds, and it lists the episodes in progress on a page titled "Episodes in Progress." When a new episode starts, it takes a few seconds for the first "paused at" point to be saved. My only wish would be for it to save the point immediately when an episode starts, to avoid losing the overall progress of the entire episode list. Even if that's not possible, this is the best podcast player I've used so far. Thank you for your hard work!
  • (2025-03-27) 1 ASMR: Very good podcast player. One tiny issue is that the icon is black so when you're using dark themes it just looks invisible.
  • (2024-10-23) katie galaxy: I love this extension, please please Chrome don't wreck it by saying it's "not supported". It's perfectly fine!
  • (2024-10-10) Hamid Mirhadi: thats better than real phone apps! please keep it up
  • (2024-06-30) Dave Maino: I tried a ton of podcasting apps and extensions before settling on this one. It has a simple and intuitive interface that does all the basics that I need it to do. I can easily subscribe to podcasts and it notifies me when there are new episodes available. It auto-plays the next episode in the list, which is convenient while I'm working to just keep things rolling along in the background. If you're looking for an easy-to-use podcasting extension with a good feature set I would highly recommend this one.
  • (2024-06-05) Steven “Slips” Phillips: Keeping in mind the app is a work in progress and the author keeps asking people how to make it better; When I make a playlist the list won't start automatically and when I manually start my playlist the podcasts won't automatically advance to the next podcast(s). When I review the "Latest Episodes" list episodes I've already listened to aren't indicated or even removed entirely and there is no way for me to manually indicate which episodes I have listened to or remove them from the Episodes list so I don't have to wonder if I've already listened to them.

  • (2024-06-02) Reg Howard: Have just received the notification about possible disruption to the PodStation service. Please (!) continue your work to revive it if this happens, PodStation has been the best podcast 'app' I've tried and come across. Best wishes.
  • (2024-06-01) Arijit M: Dear Mr. Guilherme, this is my ONLY Podcast extension for the longest time. It has been so long I fail to recall when I started using it (perhaps 4+ years now). I have been a silent admirer of the extension everyday that I have used it, simply owing to how easy-to-use & organized it is. I can tell this is a product made out of love & dedication as it does not have the commercial bells & whistles. Although it will be sad if this extension shuts off, I fully understand your need to balance your personal life, hobbies & work - I would do the same. I write simply to say thanks for making a great product that has been a daily companion. Wishing you the best.

  • (2024-05-02) Lennard Kowalik (Len): I just installed this extension, so I have not used it very much. I wanted to say how impressed I am already with it, especially the way it lists recent podcasts by default, and the many options it provides, except for the link to Fakebook .

  • (2024-02-20) Mark Puckett: My favorite podcast app by far. I like its setup and interface, and especially the controls.
  • (2024-02-20) Robert Thrift: An essential extension for any chrome based browser I install. For the most part It manages to be 'platform agnostic' as regards where the podcast is hosted making it an essential one-stop shop for anyone who enjoys podcasts. I do hope this survives the transition to google's manifest V3. Top of my wish list of improvements would be to be able to sync my podcast subscriptions across any browser with this extension installed, if necessary via the users own cloud sync service such as dropbox, onedrive etc. as seems to work well in Joplin.
  • (2024-02-18) Helen: Very useful app. This is the best extension I've found for podcasts, as it allows you to follow any podcast without restriction.

  • (2024-02-16) David Maino: I've waded through a lot of different podcast apps and plugins and this one is by far the best. The interface is intuitive and uncluttered, the features are exactly what I need without any extra fluff, and the ability to quickly toggle between dark and light mode is something I didn't know I wanted, but have greatly appreciated.
