Básicamente es un ícono que supuestamente notifica cuando llega algún mensaje y, al darle click, abre el whatsapp web. Si funcionara mejor sería muy práctico para no tener que dejar abierto el whatsapp web todo el tiempo pero todavía tiene cosas por mejorar.

If we make call through whatsapp web then I would say there is no other perfect extension than this whatsapp web extension.
