Kate Steltenpohl 2025-03-13: I haven't had any issues accessing or using gifs on gmail compose or hangouts, but for the past several months the options I'm getting are extremely limited, worse and worse quality, and many are customized with people's names so they're useless. I also know there are billions of gifs out there, but I only get to see ~15-20 per search term. E.g., "birthday" in the search box returned 19 options, 13 of them were customized with a name. They change daily, but the quality of the search results keeps getting worse.

Erica Brooks 2024-08-01: I love using the Giphy extension to easily add animated GIFs to my messages. Unfortunately as of today (8/1/24), it stopped working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extension multiple times. I restarted Chrome, restarted my Mac, and updated Chrome. None of that helped fix the issue. Hoping that an update gets rolled out.

Peggy Whaley 2024-08-01: I am having the same issue but even though I removed extension and then restarted Chrome and added it back in, I still don't see it in my compose email. Any other ways to fix this? Thanks.

M. G. 2021-05-12: Doesn't work on my Chromebook: Asus Flip. Just shows the Chrome Store page although it shows as installed in my extensions. Someone needs to get their Giphy homework up to date. Uninstalling ITMT.

Ian Arcuri 2021-02-07: Excellent extension. Only thing I would change is I would stop it from adding the little line of text that is added as an advertisement, at the bottom of the Gif. Easy enough to delete and not a real deal-breaker.
