Description from store 4chan X is a script that adds various features to anonymous imageboards. It was originally developed for 4chan but has no affiliation with it. For other browsers or for the userscript version (works better than the Chrome extension unless you need syncing between devices), see: https://www.4chan-x.net/ Please note: Uninstalling: 4chan X disables the native extension, so if you uninstall 4chan X, you'll need to re-enable it. To do this, click the [Settings] link in the top right corner, uncheck "Disable the native extension" in the panel that appears, and click the "Save Settings" button. If you don't see a "Save Settings" button, it may be being hidden by your ad blocker. Incognito mode: By default, 4chan X remembers your last read post in a thread and which posts were made by you, even if you are in incognito mode. If you want to turn this off, uncheck the "Remember Last Read Post" and "Remember Your Posts" options in the settings panel. You can clear all 4chan browsing history saved by 4chan X by resetting your settings. Use of the "Link Title" feature to fetch titles of Youtube links is subject to Youtube's Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and Privacy Policy (http://www.google.com/policies/privacy). (2023-08-21) Zach Fett: Excellent extension, I can't imagine using 4chan without it, but over the last few months I've noticed that image-heavy threads become a total lag-fest when trying to scroll down while having this extension enabled. I've tried resetting settings, disabling various ones that I thought might be affecting it, but nothing seems to help.
(2023-08-16) First Last: One of the best extensions, but recently it's been breaking my 4chan page across all browsers/different computers: When the extension is enabled, it often makes 4chan come up with the error: "Your browser is out of date! Update your browser to view this website correctly. More Information." Only gets fixed when disabling this extension, I hope a fix comes soon.

(2021-07-06) Ashley Blackwater: Makes the site so much easier to use without adding complexity. if you want to go all out with custom settings you can, but really the default options modernize the site, and I swear even makes it faster/more optimized. I find the dump list feature the most useful. Being able to just drag an entire folders worth of files in instead of searching for the files one by one saves so much time. Getting reply notifications is also really useful. Updates are quick. When the site makes a weird change that breaks it (like changing the captcha), its updated and fixed extremely quickly.

(2021-06-27) Michael Maus: UPDATE: I cannot post anymore and I keep getting "connection error" even after trying all the troubleshooting suggestions. It was working fine yesterday, but today not so much. Works when it wants to but I've experienced many instances where I would reply to a thread and my comment wouldn't post or try to make a thread and it redirects me to another thread.

(2021-04-15) Kieran Hooper: It'd be nice if filtered threads highlighted the element/phrase that got them filtered. It's hard to figure out what went wrong/filtered a thread I wanted to see, since I have so many filters in place.

(2020-12-27) mer meh: I have been using this for over a week now and it improved 4chan a lot. However, I noticed whenever a 4chan thread has a new reply while I brose the catalog, it has a minor bug of minimizing the thread I'm previewing (a feature 4chanx created). Other than that, I would highly recommend it since the captcha setting ensures I can reply without clicking the dumb fading cars 20 times. It bypasses captcha nearly entirely.

Webms no longer have sound. The mute button on all files is showing that they are muted, and is grayed out and no longer selectable making it impossible to unmute them. I'm in chrome version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (64-bit) Issue began occuring approximately a week ago, after Chrome updated its look. Webms open fine in incognito mode/when 4chan X is turned off
