A facebook network of a hundred friends or more is often very dense. This is because your friends are usually friends with each other, resulting in a huge number of links. When visualized, such a network looks very confusing and does not have a real structure: we call this a hairball. Our app helps you to untangle your hairball and show the hidden group structure among your friends: your lost circles. We do this by determining the relative importance of the links and draw your friends with stronger ties closer together. Try it out for yourself!

  • (2020-11-21) Quinny Shanan: can't work
  • (2019-12-20) David Deng: It is very good. But since Facebook has a query limit, I cannot fully visualize my network. Is it possible to load some of the network now, and then add another part of the network by querying later?
  • (2019-08-27) Darren Johnston: I love this extension, but it needs a throttling or delay setting to avoid blocking by Facebook!
  • (2019-07-01) Butthole: It's currently broken - no longer pauses in between requests and ends up resulting in a temporary account block after getting through a couple friends' mutuals. Please fix this because when it's working it's super cool!
  • (2019-06-12) P: I'm now temporarly block from facebook, probably because they thought I was a spam bot :(
  • (2019-06-12) Andrew Gluck: I was interested in this tool, but it resulted in my facebook account being temporarily banned. It's ingested most of my friends, but is only showing 4 of them connected in any way, with the rest of the nodes just arranged in a grid pattern. I imagine this is because my account got banned before it could finish. User beware.
  • (2019-06-12) mrdimosssssss: really nice but It only linked a very small part of my friend eventhough I dont have that many (less than 1k). It says the feature is now blocked. Anyway around that?
  • (2019-06-11) Casey McGraw-Herdeg: Neat concept, but does not work currently due to rate limits on facebook (blocked me from viewing mutual friends after it started building connections) Given how often facebook changes their APIs, I'm not surprised, but open sourcing the code would allow others to keep up with things like this.
  • (2019-06-11) Josh Thorpe: Got a ban from viewing profiles on facebook after running this extension for making too many requests in a short period of time. Didnt even do anything, only exported a blank file. Dont recommend
  • (2019-04-02) Joey Ortiz: Works great. Not sure what people's issues come from, but if you have fresh chrome install, good internet connection, patience, and probably no stupid anti-virus/etc programs installed (hello, its 2019?) this will show you crazy connections you had no clue existed.
  • (2019-01-18) Matthias Reuße: Works as intended. Set language to English(UK) and exported it to GraphML for an easy Gephi import.
  • (2019-01-09) Conor McG: Extremely interesting tool. Took a while to get all the data from facebook but the end product was great. Unforunately there's no easy way to differentiate between profiles with no connections, and the accounts that have been deleted. Also quite intense for the processor, my laptop was lagging quite a bit while trying to manipulate the map.
  • (2018-12-13) amini gazar: very good thx u
  • (2018-11-07) Bryan Marquardt: Worked for me...just have to wait while it loads. Not sure what to do with it once you visualize it. Pack your patience while it loads.
  • (2018-11-04) Diógenes De Carvalho Silva: Não funionaou no meu pc
  • (2018-10-08) Tim Anderson: it chugged along for a long time eating all my fb data I guess. when it was done I clicked on "visualize" which displayed a blank white window. it does nothing at all in other words. would "download" export an empty file? that seems to do nothing also. I installed and tried it before fb got hacked. it didn't work then and still doesn't work. Has anyone gotten it to work this year?
  • (2018-06-04) fabian albarracin: ya no funciona con facebook
  • (2018-04-24) Eduardo Pezzi: não funciona
  • (2018-04-15) E Demp: Didn't work, same issue as other users with loading to 100% without any visualisation.
  • (2018-03-20) Jonathan Toews: Fantastic tool, but does not work for my Facebook. I've tried with several computers, and taken all the recommended steps. Disappointed that there are still bugs.
  • (2018-02-26) San Raposa: Awesome. It worked fine. Could scrape more info but it is very helpful.
  • (2018-02-07) Gem Wu: Fascinating!!
  • (2018-02-06) Yi Shang Jan: It`s a wonderful tool for me. Thanks for providing.
  • (2017-12-20) Maria Chavez: Interesting.
  • (2017-08-31) João Matos: amazing
  • (2017-05-11) Richard Roland: This would be an exponentially more valuable tool for social analysis if, upon starting with a friend's FB page open, it would use them as the seed for another friend-scraping.
  • (2017-05-05) DJ Chesley: I have been searching for this tool for so long!!! I love it! Could you add the ability to map friend x with friend y in the next update??
