A theme created for Google Play Music™ to give your eyes a break with a darker layout and color options.
Play Midnight is a different take on the standard theme that is used on Google Play Music. As much as I love the original look of Play, the brightness can hurt the eyes after a while. After noticing there wasn't a dark alternative Play Midnight came to be.
Firefox addon is in the works current as of v3.0.0. Should hopefully have more news soon.

I love how minimal Play Midnight is, and I'd love to keep improving it and making it better. I can promise there will never be ads anywhere on this extension, and I'll continue to improve it as much as possible. Since I'm working on this extension alone, I can't always devote all of my time to the development. Any donations are greatly appreciated and will help motivate me to put more time into making this the best extension possible.

To change the color options for Play Midnight, click the Play Midnight cog located on the bottom right corner of your screen, next to the volume/queue buttons.
Note about the Mini Player: The mini player uses a separate app/program on your computer separate from Chrome, so I don't have any way of styling it at the moment, sadly. If I eventually have the time to figure it out I'll get on it.
Feel free to tell me any things you like or dislike as well as graphical changes and I'll take everything into consideration. Thanks for trying out Play Midnight, and I hope you enjoy!

I'm crushed that Google Play Music will be ending this year and we're being forced to use YouTube Music (which is awful in every possible way). They totally need you to help with the interface :) Thanks for years of improving my GPM experience!

- (2020-03-26) The Minesweeper: This has to be my favourite extension on the store, clean, add free, sleek, and easy to tweak. I only whish there was something of the same style for the mobile app (Which needs a dark theme in a bad way) Overall 10/10 you won't regret this extension.

- (2020-03-16) Ethan Clansky: awesome work mr dev. MUST HAVE for Gplay music. love that the dev focuses on minimization, not hogging resources. The default 'blinding mode' of gplay music, insert many curses, is so blinding bright it probably erases 100 yrs of melatonin. GET IT. NOW.

- (2019-11-21) Kenyun Peterson: This is an awesome extension! I used to use Spotify and Tidal for my streaming services in the past, so I've always longed for Google Play Music (which I consider superior overall) to have a dark theme like those other services do. This extension lets me do it on my desktop browser at least. I wish there were something like this for the mobile app, but this extension is great. Features are very specific, wish is good for me because I like to customize. ⚡
- (2019-11-10) Martin K: Great extension! Thanks devs :) Why Google couldn't just do dark is beyond me, they did it to youtube. Anyway, nice one :)
- (2019-11-07) Badou Jagne: Thank You Chris!

- (2019-09-26) Austen Palmer: This extension is so well made, I had to come to the reviews to make sure no one suspected this of being a data collecting extension. This is amazing. Good job man
- (2019-09-25) Zach Iliff: great extension, I like it.
- (2019-09-02) Sanny Sanoff: Dear Chris, Your extension would be 10 times more awesome, if you could only add some contrast to it. Just look, when I hovering my mouse over the left navigation, I have gray on gray selection. Currently played song is not selected at all. It's hard to find it in the list of songs. Am I close to the end of the album or not? Looking for animated bars icon requires me to enable temporal analysis in my brain cortex and lose time, but having separate color for active element (ancient design language long forgotten at google) would allow immediate recognition of active item in the list, to differentiate it (guess!) from non-active element. Thanks in advance!
- (2019-08-29) Manuel Hesselbarth: Das ist wirklich eine super Erweiterung, die aktuell alles bietet, was mich bisher gestört hat!
- (2019-08-28) Vlad Magda: Superb extension, clean, easy to use, and the additional options it offers are dope. Fantastic work.
