Description from extension meta

Hide fixed elements on a page to open up more viewing space

Description from store "Fixed elements" are parts of a web page which stay "fixed" in one place in the window. They're often used to create bars at the top or bottom of the window, making less of the page content visible. This extension adds a button in your browser toolbar you can click to temporarily hide all fixed elements on the page, freeing up more room in the window for you to read the content of the page. (The button is a toggle -- click it again to make those elements show up.)

  • (2019-04-07) CMUFA2018: This extension is a must-have, especially for wide-screen laptops where hyper-zealous advertising hides everything. Some newspaper sites will detect it and prevent you from accessing content when it's on, but that's only when you've hit your article limit for the month. It's a lightweight extension that doesn't bog anything down. And! It works on Chrome & Firefox. Not on Opera last time I checked (been awhile though).

This is definitely my top productivity extension. For someone who reads articles all the time, a customizable key board shortcut can make this even more awesome. Thanks a lot.

I use this a lot, thanks for making this! Would be great to have: hotkey to toggle hiding/displaying fixed elements.
