poiasd 2024-08-26: I needed this to get rid of the wallpaper that came with the theme, which I installed for tab and top bar colors. Unfortunately this extension also removes bookmarks bar from new tab, and I need the bar only on new tabs, so this extension isn't a good fit for me.
PolishGuy 2024-04-30: - 5 mb isn't much for a PNG - It removes buttons from the new tab, so you can't just click on usual websites you go to from New Page with this extension.

Cory Roberts 2020-12-20: Great but there is a flicker of white before your chosen background is shown, kind of defeating the purpose of using this plugin to show a dark background. Not sure if this is fixable or not.
