Fix URLs when typing in the wrong language by accident
If you accidentally type URLs into the Google Chrome omnibox in the wrong language like this:
'''ץקסשצפךקץבםצ
or this:
ςςς.εχαμπλε.ψομ
or this:
цццюучфьздуюсщь
Then URL Language Fixer will automatically convert the letters back to the English you intended:
www.example.com
URL Language Fixer knows how to recognize URLs and only converts them. If you type real words in Russian, Greek or Hebrew then it will leave them alone.
URL Language Fixer is also customizable. You can add your own languages in the options. If you need help, contact me (the author).
How to add a language:
From Tools->Extensions, open the URL Language Fixer Options page. You'll see a list of Languages and a list of Search engines. Find an empty row and type in the name of the language.
For the conversion, fill in the table of "From" and "To". "From" is the button when you press it in your language. "To" is the button when you press it in English. Do this for all relevant keyboard buttons.
In the regular expression, put in the regular expression to recognize a mistype. For example, for Russian, switch to Russian keyboard and type in ".com|.org|.biz|.info" and so on. So if ".com" or ".org" or ".biz", etc, appear in the mistyped URL, it will be fixed. Other URLs will be left alone.
Now set the enable checkbox (to turn on the translation) and then press "Save".
If you want me to add your language for you, let me know what language.
