Capture a picture of any page with the click of a button
SimpleShot is a fast, lightweight, and simple screenshot extension for Google Chrome.
Just click the icon to screenshot your current tab. SimpleShot only captures your tab, not your mouse, your taskbar, or other applications you have open.
Clicking the button opens a new tab where you can preview and download your image, or you can go to options and check auto-download, to make clicking the button instead directly download the image. You can also right click the image and click "save as" to name it whatever and save it wherever you want.
* Super fast
SimpleShot downloads the full quality image already cached in your browser, so it downloads instantly instead of creating a new image from each pixel.
* Super light
SimpleShot is far less than a single megabyte.
* Super simple
Just click a single button to take a screenshot. That's it
* Look ma! No mouse!
Launch SimpleShot using Ctrl+Shift+1, or change this shortcut in your settings (chrome://extensions/shortcuts)
* Ad-free, and works offline
*Only one permission: The active tab, to get a screenshot of it
* Clear the clutter
SimpleShot automatically names the files by date to clear the clutter
You can go to options by right clicking on the extension icon.
Note: SimpleShot doesn't work on screenshots of the Chrome Web Store (chrome.google.com/webstore) because extensions aren't allowed to access it.
Note: If the default keyboard shortcut isn't working, try removing then re-adding the shortcut (in chrome://extensions/shortcuts)

Most of the cases I want a screenshot to share with folks. So it could automatically save to a shared space and extra bonus if it automatically copied an URL to share the screenshot with others -- so I could just paste the link in a chat, email or tweet.

- (2021-02-21) Samurai Sx: Amazing! Just 'click' and it's captured and saved! Without opening annoying new tabs and editors. For those who want quick snapshot - this is solution. It's mostly similar to default screencapture tool in UC Browser which I adored so much. If you want immediate click-save screencapture to chosen Download location - just adjust in Chrome properties that it should be asked everytime when saving some content from browser to computer (usually checking box with such option is enough). Also it would be nice to include immediate size snapshoting, like UC Browser tool, which has option to capture window or area and size was remembered everytime when doing new snapshot - it saves time. But nevertheless, this is nice one tool, for quick capture-save.
