A lot of people have complained about the latest update to twitters web app with the way embeded media are now displayed.

This extension does one thing only, it hides embeded media in your tweet feed and only show them when you click the tweet.

UPDATED: Fixed a bug that sometimes hid photos on the Photos & Video page.

UPDATED 2013-12-11: Due to markup changes on twitters webapp I had to edit the code.
