Minimally lists the 10 most popular stories trending on Hacker News over the last 24 hours
I based this app off my desire to limit work interrupting choices (See The Paradox of Choice by Barry Schwartz if interested in learning more). There are so many unique ways to ingest information, so many ways to design elements that will catch attention, that focus and attention to the task at hand are simply too difficult.
That said, this app minimally displays a curated group of the 10 most popular Hacker News stories over the last 24 hours. It refreshes every 30 minutes automatically, but the thought is that unless something major happens, the list will rarely change, and only when something major occurs.
It's not a miracle app: it won't save you from going down the rabbit hole, endlessly reading, and wasting your day away. But I've found that because the list doesn't change much, my eyes don't register anything new, and I get back to work.
