  • (2022-04-23) ovejita feliz15: It's perfect for learning japanese but, is there some way that I can use it for English? like for english rare words, if I try using a EN-ES instead of JP-EN dictionary would it work and how can I do that?
  • (2022-04-17) Memes: very usefull
  • (2022-04-15) Seul-gi Baggelaar: One of the best developed pop-up dic. out there! Developer definitely put a lot of time into it...I would love...however if there was something similiar for the Korean language... Most Korean "pop-up" dics don't have ANY Anki integration at all... It would be a dream come true.
  • (2022-02-26) Max Moroz: It's amazing, I don't understand why it doesn't have >1M users. Everyone who learns Japanese should have it. One problem I ran into recently is that it no longer works with Google Docs (because Google Docs switched to canvas rendering). I turned on "Force HTML-based rendering for Google Docs", but it wasn't enough. I hope one day this could be fixed, for now I had to switch to Zoho docs (where Yomichan works fine).
  • (2022-01-29) Abdelouahab Toutouh: A Japanese learning essentiel. Request : Please add TTS buttons for copied sentences in Yomichan Search page - (and AnkiDroid integration within wiki browser, if possible).
  • (2022-01-08) Matt Billings: A game changer - like rikaikun but better. The level of customization with this is crazy and it makes kanji lookups lightning fast and super easy. Very thankful to Alex for making this gem of a language learning aid!
  • (2021-12-18) Lucas Pearce: Instant convenient lookup with pitch accent, native pronunciation, Anki support, (AND you can add JP-JP dictionaries onto it too). Makes immersion learning RIDICULOUSLY convenient and efficient. Wish I could pay money for this thing lol
  • (2021-09-11) Ann Sparkle: Great, so great that Yomichan can connect with Anki!
  • (2021-09-11) J.: Very good. Much more customisable than Rikaikun
  • (2021-08-11) tichvn: thanktyo ou lil b 大きいちゅんぐす
  • (2021-07-15) Fantastic extension! Really helps with daily learning. In particular, I like how I can traverse from a word to a single kanji, and it will define that kanji to give a deeper understanding of why the word is written how it is. It also has lots of configuration settings which is a great feature that isn't commonly offered in extensions, or at least not to this extent. Would recommend!
  • (2021-04-15) Black Duck: Great tool but I have a feature request and will update to five stars if it is implemented. I would like to be able to set the addon so I can limit scans within a popup to only a specific dictionary. So for example I would like to scan the initial word with a monolingual dictionary and then scan words within the popup with only the english to japanese dictionary. That way I can learn difficult dictionary vocab with english. I hope that makes sense. Thank you.
  • (2021-03-05) Indago: Helps immensely, especially with kanji! Though occasionally some kanji and slang words aren't able to be read or defined by Yomichan, it works most of the time and helps me infer meaning of sentences if I don't know a word.
  • (2021-02-10) G: Insanely good, brilliant support for custom dictionaries and anki, if you don't have this extension you are seriously missing out!
  • (2021-01-25) A K: This is one of the most essential tools to reach fluency fast. Thank you so much for creating this.
  • (2021-01-09) Thermospore: Indispensable
  • (2021-01-03) Prinetta: I've used it for years, incredibly useful.
  • (2020-12-22) Kiran Paudyal: Edit:Awesome
  • (2020-12-20) 誠に.: This is what every serious Japanese learner needs on their computer.
  • (2020-12-19) Riberium: Thanks for the best extension
  • (2020-11-25) Felix: A must have
  • (2020-10-22) 外人です: Perfect for customization and for detaching yourself from monolingual dictionaries.
  • (2020-09-26) Aaron Roy: Works perfectly with J-J dictionaries and I appreciate the recursive lookup feature. Very customizable too!
  • (2020-09-11) Curious Bird: This add-on combined with anki is great!
  • (2020-08-19) HiddenArmy: Yomichan is great improvement over rikai-kun's family, with Anki integration and you can also add another dictionaries too!. While it's not 100% perfect, this is a must have ext for JP learners. Also if you have any trouble, the devs is on github and ready to help.
  • (2020-08-19) Richard Erasmus Liiv: Easy to use and works wonderfully!
  • (2020-08-19) Luis Philipe Rocha: It's very very good, but I've stumbled upon a bug that kind of broke my Yomichan. The CTRL C function to copy and automatically search for a word or kanji stopped working. I have to manually paste it in a separate tab inside the browser and click "search", it's a drag. To be more specific, I was using it perfectly inside Anki's ambient during reviews. But now I have to manually paste and search. These manual searches add up quickly, and seconds become precious minutes. Still, excellent extension. Lots of customization options and very user-friendly.
  • (2020-07-30) Kyle Ott: It took me a very long time to set up but it was worth it!
  • (2020-07-30) ドラえもん: Recently, there has been a lot of trouble, so it can't be used After trying it again a few times, it stopped working after a day or two If developers see this comment, hopefully they can improve it. Thank you
  • (2020-07-17) Levyeir: So many errors just to install a dictionary. Googling the error would lead to a 3 pages worth of code on a Github website, yeah I think I'll pass on that.
  • (2020-04-11) Kenneth Goad: I can't believe I've wasted years using rikai kun
  • (2020-01-31) Ye Shiwei: I'd like to share the converted Kenkyusha Japanese-English ebwin dictioary. Link: https://mega.nz/#!4BMgEaZS!xgikt3AYsVUnl-0SjAPL7Mx5LcQIMZzJZCxcRWSD02g After hours of searching and trying, i have successfully found the ebwin Kenkyusha source and imported this to my yomichan, quite useful and powerful. Besides, dear author, I am from China and using payment tool called Alipay or Wechat. Could it possible to make the donation methods including this? What's more, i recommand there should be a search function in the pop-out interface. Thank you.
  • (2019-10-10) bahrta sai: I know using downloaded dictionaries is probably so it works offline, which is useful, but is there any chance you'll add an option to connect to an online database instead (jisho.org is good for example) instead to free up space used by downloaded dictionaries?
  • (2019-08-23) Riddhesh: Not sure if the update did it, but lookup feature is finally working perfectly on touchsceen devices! Also, the ability to look up inside japanese dictionaries is great- there is one problem though: If you use the 'add to anki' feature after looking up a word IN the jp dict, it ends up extracting the definition in yomichan as the sentence- not the original sentence. eg. If you want to mine 僕の走りが素早いだ and look up 走り which says 走ること , clicking on 走る to get the real definition and clicking on add anki- the sentence that gets added is '走ること’ I am really glad to know that new features are still being added.
  • (2019-08-18) Simon Ardfors: Very fully-featured. Does everything I want it to with Anki, including great custom card template scripting support.
  • (2019-08-12) Pasta-san: Learned Japanese through yomichan + novel mining from 0 to n1+ Since the past month, I have received 'This extension has been corrupted. Reinstall" 3 times, I would really appreciate if it gets fixed as setting up my Anki format + J-J dictionaries each time is super time consuming.
  • (2019-07-10) Rafael Benavent: The shift key is a nightmare to get working. It seems you need to press it at a very specific position or it doesn't work.
  • (2019-03-02) Mark K: Simply outstanding! Cannot thank the developer enough!
  • (2019-02-10) Martim Afonso: está em inglês e já não vale a pensa usar. O tradutor é muito melhor.
  • (2019-02-10) Gleice Souza: Trabalhoso. Tem que instalar a fonte das leituras por fora.
  • (2019-02-02) Zhenkai Weng: The pop-up only works with the scan modifier set to "None" for me. I have other plugins that scan English words and I am not sure whether the two conflict or not.
  • (2019-01-24) Mio Akiyama: Really cool feature but the pop up window that shows the definitions are all blurry. It seems to be a problem only for me and I have no idea how to fix it.
  • (2019-01-22) Versus Void: Fast, concise, clear.
  • (2018-09-27) MsBroly12 HD: Es excepcional en cuanto a traducciones cotidianas, formales, etc. Muy completa y extensible.
  • (2018-05-15) Yumi Ta: Absolutely amazing!!!
  • (2018-05-15) Zard0Z: Works beautifully, and is intuitive and very useful for creating Anki cards. It's highly customizable in that sense, as well.
  • (2018-05-12) Ash Curkpatrick: I really love this extension a lot. Much more than others such as Rikaichan. I would love to know if it would be possible when creating anki cards to be able to integrate monolingual translations and to be able to use glossaries over entire sentences instead of just single terms. But other than those things, I think it's fantastic!
