Watch video using Picture-in-Picture
Description from store
Picture-in-Picture (PiP) allows you to watch videos in a floating window (always on top of other windows) so you can keep an eye on what you’re watching while interacting with other sites, or applications.
Keyboard shortcut: Alt + P (⌥ + P on macOS)

- Was working completely fine until one day the video i had minimized wouldnt show. And when I deleted the extenstion, every video did the "Showing in pictue in picture" thing WITHOUT the picture in picture on my screen. Until i refreshed.

- PERFECT scalability and works on everything!!! works like a charm , thanks bro for developing it ! makes working easier with pip in the corner!!!
- Ngọc Trúc Nguyễn
- It doesn't show, just a bug
- Rickard Eriksson
- Automatic pop-up of video is not something I want to get automatic enabled for old users. Don't force settings on users.
- Joshua Waurich
- The most recent update allows seeking, fast forward and back, making it so much more usefull
- Colin Dafilmoto
- Amazing, but it could be a lot better if Picture in Picture mode supports Subtitles.

- Very very useful for multitasking and entertainment :D My only issue is that the last update introduced a video progress bar that can sometimes get in the way if I need to move the frame. For example, if I need to move it and my mouse gets a bit to close, it will drag progress bar instead of the frame. This often restarts the entire video which is a tad annoying. If you remember to keep your mouse off the bottom half of the frame when dragging, it's fine. If you forget you may have to find what part of the video you were just on :/

- No longer works. You have to use the "Force Picture-In-Picture Extension" because some genius thought it would be a good idea to give streaming services the option to break picture-in-picture because they hate their own customers.
- Davyd Shkyria
- The latest beta version is absolutely brilliant.
- Christian S
- Works great but please give us the option to REMOVE the progress bar that was forcibly added.
- supernova 099
- at first was just lil window with a pause button but now its great, really enjoy this extension when not using a multi monitor set up.
- Chris Carney
- Works! Very simple to use, Alt + P and the PiP starts
- Nicoly Saguini
- By the last update, it is automatically going picture in picture, even when I don't want it to. I alredy turned off the option and it is still happening
- Michael M.
- Why doesn't it turn on automatically when I click on a link or another tab? I would also like to see a scroll bar in this window.
- Sawyer Smith
- I see other reviews giving 1 star bc of small details, but i only care if it shows a video in a tiny square on my screen, which it does pretty well.
- Gantushig Saruul
- So bad. So lacklaster. It works tho. Doesn't show cc's. Doesn't remember where I placed it last time. When I try to change my desktop programs, macOS sees the PIP as a chrome window.... The Safari PIP is just perfect. But I can't use two browsers at the same time. It's just dumb and too power consuming. Just copy the PIP of Safari please. Since Chrome is based on Safari's engine right?..
- Samuel Brizuela
- You'd expect an extension from Google would work flawlessly but it's so annoying that after coming from PiP on Youtube, mind you, there's a dark overlay over the video and you can't control the playback position, you must reload the page in order to fix things
- Emanuele Chirielli
- Dumb useless extension Doesn't add anything to the browser, it's a simple shortcut to Chrome "Picture in picture" function, normally you just right click and press that in the context menu, this extension does the same exact thing by clicking on it, nothing more, no more controls, it just pops up the same ugly chrome video player that has no controls at all. Going back to Firefox since it has a extremely better picture in picture functionality. Shame on this extension, it should not exist, and shame on you Chromium, provide a better implementation, that thing you have is garbage, look at Firefox.

- I want to use on https://gem.cbc.ca/heartland/s18?autoplay=1 and did NOT work ... uninstalled

- not working on linux

- The keyboard shortcut does not work for me, meaning the only way to use it is to click on my extensions. After I use it on Youtube it leaves behind this weird overlay with buttons that don't work, and prevents me from using Youtube's buttons. This might be because I'm using the Comet browser. After switching from an extension I had on Firefox I was disappointed to see that there are no rewind/forward buttons, progress bar, or volume options on the miniplayer which I am used to. It is still usable, but I was able to find an extension that is exactly the same, but fixes both of the issues that I stated initially, and I would like to see more than just the bare minimum of a popup player.

- Amazing tool wished I discovered this 10 years ago. One suggestion for improvment: Everytime the video window opens, it's by default back to the bottom right corner. Would be great it it would reopen in the same size and place as on last use (top right corner with double the size for me).
- Andrew Cross
- Crashes my entire pc whenever I use it usually within the first 5 minutes. I know its not a hardware or driver issue, and it's only ever while I'm using PiP. I can run 5 different adobe programs at once without issue but one new tab while a youtube video plays in the background borks it. Needs serious fixing.
- Steve Condylios
- It's fine. But I'd like to be able to make the PiP video smaller. Why do you limit how small it can go unnecessarily. (I want to be able to have it so small it's not distracting, yet be able to resize it if I need to - the resizing bit is easy and already works, I just can't get it small enough that it's not distracting). Also, the popup saying 'youtube.com wants to..' needs a little 'x' so it can be closed without having to make a decision (it should default to not having PiP if closed via 'x'). That box is annoying, I don't want PiP now, but I might want PiP on that site for the future, so I don't want to click 'Don't allow'. An 'x' would let me so 'go away' to the box, without any long-lasting side effects.

- best!!!
- Cherelyn Rodgers
- One thing that I think would take this extension to the next level is for the closed capture to carry over with the PIP view as well.... that and the fact that rewind and fast forward can't be done from the PIP, are the only things that prevents me from giving this 5 stars. Thanks!

- recent chrome update broke the plugin it crashes youtube now
- Michelle Woods
- I like it but there no subtitles available.
- Euan
- so good works on everything thank you
- Bethany Beauregard
- Every couple of months it stops working correctly. It's currently not showing what I'm actually watching on Hulu right now - a different video comes up and I have no other tabs or windows open while attempting this.
- Layla McCarus
- it actually freaking works unlike some other extensions
- Issa Adam
- Does not display on top on UBUNTU OS while working with other applications
- Derek
- Would be perfect if it overlayed closed captions. It's really the only thing missing.
- Mohammed Sayeed
- Stopped working on youtube.
- Oğuz Saraç
- If you use PiP mode, unfortunately the Play/Stop shortcut stops working. I use one of my mouse button as Play/Stop. It works perfectly as long as the media is not in PiP. Even after going back to normal the button still doesn't work, I have to refresh the page it to work again. Please fix this issue.
- Nico Arcenas
- I enjoy this extension. But the new automatic feature is whack. I disabled it, but it still kept on making videos automatic. What's worse is that if I close the PiP window, the video stops, but I wanted it just playing in the background. Now I disabled the extension. Hopefully the next time I need it the feature is fixed.
- Rajeev
- Not properly working on ubuntu
- omkar sahane
- good extension. Small suggestions: instead of go back and forward while (PIP mode) you can give button of 10 sec back 10 forward video. That would be helpful. Also when we hover the mouse cursor to the PIP window it fades the color too much , can you change is little more lighter and visibility of background video should be more?
- Kirtti Ranjan Behuria
- Works great! However, it would be helpful to have a skip-ad button directly in Picture-in-Picture. Currently, skipping an ad requires going back to the main YouTube player.
- Harvick T
- This is awesome, I like that auto PIP update, great work.
- blue
- actually really helpful

- I’ve been using this extension for a while now, and unfortunately, one of the most basic features still doesn’t work properly: the CC (closed captions) function. No matter how I try, I can’t use it as intended. This makes the extension much less practical than it should be. I really hope the developers address this issue soon. Please make the CC feature fully functional—without it, the extension feels incomplete.
- Kristina Balciunaite
- I use this every day and it works really well. Love the new rounded corners. Great plugin!
- Ryan Huber
- doesnt work
- Diana Esquivel
- i wanted to use it for weverse lives and i can't :(
- Matthew Regan
- @Craig Jacobs, this is because captions don't come over to the PIP and google can apparently get in trouble with their TV service for not having captions for the hearing impaired. They have been working to solve this issue for about 5 years but their developers still haven't figured out the solution. Not sure why they are having difficulty, I guess Google has subpar developers.
- Craig Jacobs
- Works fine. But Google owns YouTube. Why did they remove the mini player option just to create an extension for it on their own product that they removed it from in the first place?
- bbeen bie
- this is very helpful!!

- Functional, but far behind Firefox's built-in PiP feature. * forced always on top behavior isn't working on my system, easy enough to fix via autohotkey script but not everyone knows how to do that and they shouldn't have to * PiP videos in firefox show an icon for supported video content, this extension just has a hotkey and the only indication that the content you want to PiP isn't supported is that the hotkey does nothing * the only video playback control on the PiP is a play/pause button. no skipping forward/back, changing volume, etc. * things like youtube captions do not show up on the PiP - they just draw over a black background where the video would be on the page. you also can't use keyboard hotkeys with the PiP window active to control the page it's on. * mousing over the PiP window greys out the whole video to display a 'back to tab' option, which gets annoying fast when the video fades in and out every time the mouse cursor clips the corner of the video Hope to see this upstreamed as a built-in feature and given a lot more polish and feature parity with Mozilla's implementation. When you get any window layering issues sorted out, and if you don't need to access any playback controls or use captions, this does the same thing Firefox's PiP does, but those are some pretty significant missing features.
