You've heard of phishing, right?
It's that nasty trick where online evildoers make a look-alike version of a website or application you're familiar with, so you inadvertently hand over your passwords or personal information. Basically, like Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but for the web.
If you're hooked by this sort of trick, you've been "phished."
PhishFree is an extension for Google Chrome that will give you a visual hint whenever you visit a website for the first time. (Or for the first time in a while; PhishFree only looks back 30 days into your Chrome browsing history.)
