When I asked, they responded with: 'Rakuten ended its relationship with you, not just your email address. Any future accounts will be deactivated. It would be best if you found another Cash Back site.' Extremely disappointed by the lack of transparency and harsh response.

These days though it takes weeks to even process if you've earned money back from a purchase at all, then weeks or months to see the money (assuming you meet the minimum payout threshold, because you'll never see the money until you do). More than ever my purchases are deemed ineligible because of some obscure exclusionary factor, which would've been wonderful to know when I made the purchase initially. Years ago I would hear how people accidentally made an exclusionary purchase, but still get their cash back, just along with a warning from customer service. The only appealing factor to me these days is the aggregated coupon codes, which you could find with a number of other shopping extensions, or by really looking around online yourself.

Are you also noticing the comments stating you need to improve (the ones that say bubble popping up each and every time with no option to deactivate?). All comments need care and attention, and you're showing us how you handle complaints. So please consider commenting under negative complaints, also!

• (2025-05-31) UGH!! Since it's inception and my account sign-up, I feel like I have been cheated out of 100s of dollars via online purchases I have not been reimbursed for. For example, I purchased seven $96 shelves at 15% reimbursement rate and even after supplying full length copies of my receipts, I only received a pittance of the money owed to me.

• (2025-04-30) Extension currently seems to be broken due to a geolocation issue. It always redirects to a US portal to log in so as a new user from the UK I am completely unable to log in through the extension, and even after various cache wipes and attempts on different browsers it just will not sync to my account, even if I'm signed in through a webpage. You always just get a geogating page that prompts you to redirect to your region, but doesn't actually offer any sync to your account when that region has been changed.

I have never had one issue with this company! Honestly, I don't even think about it. I just click the purple button that has an "R" in it, and they take care of the rest. I get a check in the mail and everyone is happy! Thanks Rakuten!
• (2025-03-30) This extension works... When I remember to click on it, that is! Totally user error there. I have used this extension for several years and have always received the Cash Back I was promised. Does it pay the rent? No. But it takes a few bucks off something I was going to buy anyway. Give it an honest try and see how it works for you. Do be certain to check the Percentage Off - it can change from day to day. I looked at a favorite site one day and the percentage was 5%. The next day it was 16%!!! Shopping spree!!
• (2025-03-17) This extension is a scam; it never once gave cashback for any purchases. The purchases that it said it would apply to don't even show up on the activity history within the extension. Don't bother.

I was so surprised to see a check in the mail from Rakuten. I had earned cash back of $9.36. Going forward, I will definitely use the codes every time I can. With today's high costs, its always a great blessing to earn a little cash back. Thank you Rakuten.
• (2025-02-06) I dont understand why people say this Is a fraud, It takes a while to add up but it is NOT a fraud I got a check for $15.00 one time but let it expire then, I bought more stuff and they added it to the 15.00 check that hadn't been used, so then They sent me a check for $24.00 since I let the other one expire.

Thanks Rakuten! For all the NEGATIVE NELLIES giving bad reviews, just fix your account to receive an old fashioned check in the mail. I have never had a problem getting my check every 3 or 4 months. I've had no stress, no mess!

• (2025-01-03) I like the discounts and have received checks. However, the shelf life on the checks are very short. I signed up to receive rebates via Paypal (I would prefer getting these on Venmo). I need a way to get them to reissue rebates that I couldn't cash in the past. If I can get those older refunds reprocessed, I would upgrade my review to 5 stars.
• (2024-12-29) This isn't a fraud! I've used Rakuten for years and love it. It takes awhile to get a Big Fat Check, but mine have always arrived before too long. I think that most of the one star reviews are from people who didn't read the "fine print" about bonus offers. There may be some mailbox theft going on, too. Give it a try. You've nothing to lose.

• (2024-12-25) This is FRAUD. Rakuten steals money from small creators by swapping in their own affiliate cookies when you activate rewards. Rakuten earns a commission on every purchase you make, then chucks 10% rewards in your face to distract you from what they're actually doing. This is the same garbage as honey. Search YouTube for "Exposing the Honey Influencer Scam " To quote their privacy policy: "If you start a shopping session using the Browser Extension, it will set a cookie [...] on your device through our affiliate network for the purpose of tracking your shopping session and crediting your Cash Back reward."

• (2024-12-14) rakuten was doing great about sending me "big fat checks". Now I can't even log into my rakuten site. what's up with that? I see that I have a credit of $21 and some odd cents in change. When I try to log into my page it keeps coming up "oops there was a problem" i don't understand why. Right now I'm just trying to find their phone number so I can find out what's going on? i can't even get that.

• (2024-12-09) The bonus was promised for referring a friend, so don’t claim the promotion didn’t exist when it was clearly advertised in the Rakuten Referral Program during the 2024 black Friday sale events. Now declaring it ineligible feels deceptive. Why offer misleading promotions if you can’t honor them? This comes across as an open scam.
