Image from store Rooler
Description from store Rooler is a utility for automatically measuring on-screen graphics. Not quite like every other measurement utility out there (though there are quite a few)- this one analyzes the graphics and automatically finds the edges. It's essentially an automatic ruler, for the web. - Measures the bounds of graphics - Measures the distance between graphics - Allows ensuring correct positioning of elements, even in deeply nested element hierarchies. It's quick and easy. Give it a shot. You can also try Rooler in your browser at http://peteblois.github.io/rooler.js.

  • (2012-12-12) Rob Belics: This is now my measuring tool. Different than the others but more accurate. Helps you avoid the problem of getting the measurement spot right at a border by finding an edge itself. The boundary tool finds the boundaries of images or boxes. Love this thing!

Great ruler! One ruler to rule them all, as it were. Seems to be broken in the latest versions of Chrome. Not sure how to help you debug it - does it work for you in chrome v34 or v36 chrome canary? here is the full version info for Chrome. using the latest version of the plugin. Hi, first I'd like to say I love your tool...it is invaluable when working with picky designers. I've noticed that when I use it on a Macbook Pro retina display it displays incorrect information with the ruler stopping at random points in the middle of blank areas and going right past clear boundaries. It works fine when using it on an external display, seems to have to do with using it on the built in screen.

Hey, I just installed Rooler, and I'm quite impressed! I was looking for a minimalist measuring tool, and I'm happy to say I finally found one! I'd suggest you add the "ruler" keyword somewhere in the extension description on the Chrome store though; I believe most people use that term instead of "measure" to look for such a tool on the store.
