Capture and save webpage screenshots directly into your Miro library
Miro is the online collaborative whiteboard platform that enables distributed teams to work effectively together, from brainstorming with digital sticky notes to planning and managing Agile workflows.
With the Miro Web Clipper Chrome extension, you can add screenshots to Miro boards to easily annotate, provide feedback, drive inspiration and innovate on existing web pages.
With this extension you can simply drag and drop files from your desktop or file manager right onto the board. You can also take screenshots of websites in your browser and instantly save them into your Miro library. The first mode takes a screenshot of the entire visible area of the selected tab, the second mode allows you to capture a selected rectangular area, and the third mode allows you to capture the entire page. When you're ready to add the saved web pages to the board, find the Upload tool on the Toolbar in Miro and choose Web Clipper.
Getting started
1. After installation, the extension will automatically be enabled and become active.
2. Refresh tabs with active Miro boards so that the extension works correctly. You only have to do this once — after the initial installation.
3. The extension currently supports Google Chrome. It will not work in other browsers (including Chromium).

- (2023-11-30) Matt Stocker: Not as good as the old web clipper inside Miro itself (where you could add web link in Miro and it would import the high res. website image with an active link). I still miss that tool and the functionality it brought. This extension used to be really rubbish, but to be fair to Miro it has improved from where it was and doesn't fail that regularly any more. However, still struggles with long pages and imports them as unreadably low resolution/blurry text—so I end up having to use FireShot and chop the screenshot into sections. It also doesn't import an active website link for the screenshot which is a real pain too as you then have to add this separately. In regards the login error message, I found you need to sign out of Miro and sign back in again to get rid of the "Oops.. It seems that you don't have any Miro accounts. Please, log in with another profile" message. You have to do this every so often. It won't recognise if you are already logged in.

Whenever I access the app within the miro app, i'm asked to "install it" regardless of whether or not I already have, and sometimes my screenshots don't even appear in the library at all. Original tool worked like a charm. This, eh....

The definition is terrible, the image is blurry and with an undesirable border that we have to crop. Using Chrome F12 dev tool Capture Screenshot gives me a limpid image. I am disappointed that you cannot give me the same quality, because it would be really cool. Uninstalling.

- (2019-03-28) Jason D: This is a dream come true kind of tool for visual collaboration. It can already replace Slack since each board has a chat room. It needs an infinite z-level zoom, but I think that's coming. And perhaps a way to capture and store and search audio/mp3. And some calculations/ocr extraction tools like Microsoft OneNote had. But it has so much more and allows great collaboration. Try it out with a few personal journals and you will love it.

- (2014-03-04) Chris Jones: I can see how students could use this application to create digital portfolios. Teachers can use it to collaborate with fellow teachers. I like the slide feature, but I wish there was the ability to record voiceovers, then this would also be a powerful presentation tool.

The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because while you can upload video, I have yet to figure out how to upload audio files and there doesn't seem to be any info on that in the various tutorial videos. The site is slow loading but given all the visual information it can contain, that's partly due to my computer capacity. I had trouble with team video as well -- also, my computer's capacity.

I'd like to give it 5 stars, but its... buggy. The extension button in Chrome straight up doesn't work. Also, I don't really like the fact that it constantly prompts me to authorize my Google Drive. Also the site currently just doesn't load for me. Definitely not even 4 star worthy right now so I hope most of these issues are fixed.
