You're using experimental version of Direct Message for Instagram. Only text and image messages are supported in current version.
Instagram.com runs own account ranking system, that's why some accounts will not be allowed sending messages. Reading Direct Messages will be available in any case for all our users.
NOTE:
If you are logged out from Instagram after sending a message, this means that your account was tagged by Instagram.com as a suspicious one (or something like that). Unfortunately we can't do anything about that.
