You can shorten the URL of the current page you are viewing or a specific URL by clicking the extension icon or pasting it into the extension input bar.
The extension has been made open source. The source code can be found at https://github.com/tonystark93/URL-shortener-extension

- Would have been fine if the original URL loaded first but, there's a splash page that loads up first and may be confusing for users thinking it was that page they meant to go to. not usable

- This may be the best shortener it is easy to install, AND provides BOTH QR Code and Url shortener. Does it all. I had two good extensions for QR Code and Link Shortener. I deleted both and using this one. The extensions developers appear to have their act together and just hope they can keep up with Chrome updates!! 1 - The extension ICON actually makes sense when you look at it. 2 - Simple UI nice layout 3 - Check out the "SETTINGS" GEAR when you install it! You will find some very nice unexpected options and from a free extension. KUDOS.... Hope this software has legs into the future !!! BRAVO FIVE STARS FOR SURE !!!!!!

- This extension really does deserve 5 stars... ITS EXTREMELY CUSTOMIZABLE! It's got: a) multiple URL shorteners (always nice) b) QR code generator (super handy) c) DARK MODE (OMG a literal URL SHORTENER has DARK MODE and huge websites do not) d) Sleek UI (the UI is just so good man) e) Lastly, the fact that it can be simple af but complex at the same time with so many settings is... wow LOVE THIS EXTENSION! <3

One feature I would like to have added would be to have the ability to attach a title or label to a generated QR image. It will be convenient to be able to know what the QR code represents if many QR codes are accummulated to an album. Thanks.

- The horrible apple shortcuts application caused me to stumble upon this little nugget. Apple Shortcuts default url shortener is http://is.gd/. That site is amazing b/c it lists all of the other url shorterners. https://is.gd/software.php
