- (2025-06-19) Scott Lloyd: An absolutely great TTS reader. The voice selections are rich and varied, the voice control overlays are clean and unobtrusive, and the feature set and voice options are not bloated but concise and well thought out. MOST IMPORTANTLY it's one of the few natural voice AI TTS readers that DOES NOT HAVE CHARACTER COUNT LIMITATIONS FOR FREE USE that completely disable the extension when the limit is reached! It takes a different approach by simply having a 10-ish second "speech break" every so often. And although I think these "speech breaks" should probably be a little further apart, at least it still allows continued free use with a tolerably short, but frendly (:-), audio advert, without completely disabling the extension. The SECOND MOST IMPORTANT aspect of this extension is that its paid subscription model is not rediculiously expensive. Most natural voice TTS AI readers are well over $100/year with many at over $200/year. This one, at the time of this review, and with the various discounts, is around $55-ish a year, which is less than $5 per month. If you use TTS a lot, this is well worth the value for this TTS AI reader. The only feature that I can see that it is missing is the ability to download the TTS speech in audio format. However, I have read on some message boards that this feature has been put on the top part of the new "future development" feature stack, so we'll see. All I can say is that if you use TTS, don't walk, RUN, to get this extension! You won't regret it if you need real time TTS browser integrated features.
- (2025-06-18) Stoli Pants: I understand not everything can be free, and I understand this is a product that is mostly trying to push subscriptions like every other thing in the world now. However, it's the amount with which it interrupts you to loudly advertise at you in audio form. I will never use this again. It was really bad at pronunciation anyway, and would have required way too much fiddling to fix, and it requires you to sign up just to do simple things like that. The voice options weren't that great either
- (2025-06-16) Jean-Philippe Ménier: I tried the free version. Its great that you have UI that allows you adjust the speech whenever you want and select what part of the article you want to read. Source of improvement: Speech to feel a bit less robotic and showing where the AI is reading on your screen
- (2025-06-13) Carter Brown: Broken Scam do not pay for premium!! Been using this for college reading, got tired of the ads begging me to upgrade every five min. Reached out of a student discount, got the upgrade and now its reading gibberish. Will be finding a better extension. Do not buy the upgrade its broken and not worth it even with a discount. I would rate 0 stars if I could.

Limitless scalability.” In a world where digital communication demands speed without sacrificing quality, Readvox stands out as a category-defining force in AI-driven text-to-speech. What makes Readvox exceptional isn’t just its natural-sounding voices, it’s the intelligence behind the tone. With advanced modulation, multilingual fluency, and emotive realism, this platform doesn’t just read text, it performs it. From internal training modules and customer service voiceovers to immersive audiobook narration and global accessibility tools, Readvox delivers studio-quality output with real-time efficiency. Whether you're a solo creator, a global enterprise, or an agency managing dozens of clients, the platform flexes to your needs, with blazing-fast rendering, intuitive UX, and seamless API integrations. If you're serious about voice automation that doesn’t sound automated, Readvox isn’t just a solution, it’s a strategic advantage. AI voice has arrived. - (2025-05-19) Tiffany Gomez: Handy Chrome extension that reads webpages aloud clearly. Great for multitasking, accessibility, and reducing screen strain. Simple, effective, and easy to use.
- (2025-05-15) F G: As someone who is living with dyslexia, I am unsure how I managed anything before I has readvox. It works on all of my platforms I need, with voices that sound natural and not grating on the ears. It is so simple to use and help me when I'm on the run. Can't rave more about it.
- (2025-05-13) Larry Hirschhorn: Easy to use and a better, easier interface than the 3 others I have used (2 for Chrome and the free one with Edge). Nice choice of voices with a fresh clean settings interface. I'll be recommending this extension to others. My eyes appreciate this reader, especially since I have issues with glasses Rx because the VA can't get it right.
- (2025-05-10) Jimi Vhj: Eyes thanking me
- (2025-05-09) Jinos Jim: Need this foreverrr
- (2025-05-07) Heather H: I like the variety of voices and customization. This is the first TTS extension that I've found that works with Kindle unlimited.
- (2025-05-03) Suraj Sony: Dyslexia helper ❤
- (2025-05-01) Rolando Ortiz: Readvox TTS is really a joy to use! It has a great selection of natural sounding voices with plenty of control over the cadence and inflection. It's also priced very affordably. Try out Readvox TTS! You won't regret it!
- (2025-04-29) Shankar Jothi: Readvox sets a new standard for text-to-speech apps. With its natural voice quality, intuitive design, and seamless performance, it easily outshines competitors like Speecify. Whether you're reading articles, reviewing content, or just multitasking, Readvox delivers a smoother, clearer, and more enjoyable experience. It’s fast, reliable, and refreshingly easy to use — exactly what a modern TTS app should be.
- (2025-04-25) Techlife Tube: I've used this reader for a while, and it is good! Natural sounding speech unlike the weird one that comes with Kindle. I specifically use it for reading business books on kindle. Price is fair too!
- (2025-04-25) Alexis Bradley: I'm really enjoying this feature and finding it quite valuable. While the ads have been a bit distracting, I've decided to upgrade to the premium version. I'm optimistic it will provide exactly what I need for my workflow.
- (2025-04-22) Max Pavlukhin: A tool that addresses the problem with striking simplicity — and at a price that almost feels too good to be true
- (2025-04-22) Max Harmund: A deceptively simple solution - effective, efficient, and surprisingly accessible.
- (2025-04-21) aris aris: At first, it was really good. Now, it stops and plays an ad claiming the server is overloaded, but if you pay, you can continue without interruptions. Therefore, the older ratings are no longer accurate for free users, only for paid ones. Overall, though, it's a good add-on but unusable now with this interruptions for free users.
- (2025-04-16) Norair Gharibian: This is a well thought out easy to use and fun productivity tool. It's great to be able to multitask by having it read from one page while you're working somewhere else. Not having to maintain focus on the document you're reading is a huge benefit. I look forward to the day where they add speech to text to the tool. One tool to rule them all!
- (2025-04-14) Dan Nichols: This is THE absolute best TTS, it not only has high quality voices, it works on almost any website. I hope they make this app for desktop as well to read off any app. This is AMAZING!!! This is a life saver as a medical student, I can only read so much per day and this gives my eyes a big break to kick back and listen, go for a walk around the house while hearing the rest of my studies. Thank you for creating this, great work!!! Very well designed and intuitive, easy to change the rate, voice. Also very little bugs, it works as expected and exceeds expectations. Very well thought out. Subscribed immediately.
- (2025-04-03) Tanzim Hasan Sohag: Text to speech that doesn't sound like a robot? FINALLY! worth every penny
- (2025-03-31) Ontustik Uko: As a teacher, this has revolutionized how I review student essays while doing my home chores. I also know that my students praise the natural voices of it and tell that it's so much easier to go through reading material than silent reading! A must have!
- (2025-03-24) Jackson Welch: i hate rating is low but I couldnt get anything to work well. The audio returned made no sense and was basically gibberish.
- (2025-03-21) Ben Carson: hey dev i started using this extension at the very start i read all your replies to people where you expressed that your reason for making this addon was cuz all the others like it were either sounded like a robot or paid from reading those replies you seemed like a decent human being who just wanted to help people in a similar situation you to yourself that's why its incredibly sad to see you shifting more and more to a paid model selling your soul for money you even implemented a Spotify esc annoying thing where a random voice tells me to give you money hate to see em go out like that lol but its cool i just switch to another extension i guess the lesson for today is in life nothing is free
- (2025-03-19) Tyler R: Simply the best there is and I work for Microsoft.
- (2025-03-18) Bevan Thomas: Great app - even using a free app it is good application on the web.
- (2025-03-15) イブラヒム: So far, so good. They didn't force or ask me for a subscription, which I am pleased with.
- (2025-03-15) GhostsFromSpain: very good until it started bothering me every 5 minuets to upgrade, and its ok but not 8 euros a month ok, going back to my old, free and above all less nagging addon
- (2025-03-10) Jakib Donald: Worth every penny!
- (2025-03-07) Max: The price is too low for such a cool extension!
- (2025-03-07) John Pfeifer: My abilty to vary the speed of the voices available makes it easy to focus while I read along. The text screen usually moves the text for me so I can keep up without the complication of clicking on the screen. Varying the speed of the reading voices also allows me to engage the text at an emotional level suitable to me at the time of the reading, as the tone of voice drops in deepness with the slowing of it....as you choose the slowness. Great fun reading along.
- (2025-03-07) Devid Jons: natural sounding voices changed everything for me. no more robotic reading!
- (2025-03-06) The Fighter: This is WAY better than any other TTS I've tried! The voices actually sound human 😮
- (2025-02-26) john smith: It would have been better if it didn't have sudden ad interruptions in the speech.
- (2025-02-24) Larry Tanner: Meh, I installed this to read PDF files and it doesn't read PDFs well if at all. For some PDFs it starts reading the embedded code/settings in the PDF lol. Try harder if you want me to pay. As it stands I can't even use it for free.
- (2025-02-24) Emily S: Ever since the latest update the free version is essentially unusable now because of the aggressive ads for the premium version. I’d rather the free version just had dead air instead, or a daily cap usage or basically anything else. I’ve stopped using it since the update. I wish the developer would try listening to a book with this tts service and take notes & resolve a lot of reading problems it has. I don’t want to upgrade to premium because there’s still a lot about this tts that annoys me. It always had issues reading contraction words like wouldn’t, couldn’t, shouldn’t, etc. When reading something with stuttering text it wouldn’t handle that well either. Sentences ending with in. was always pronounced as inches. Sentences ending in rip. was always pronounced r.i.p. These are just a few of the things off the top of my head that I can remember that bothered me.
- (2025-02-21) Jim Hasan: Snippet tool is clutch for screenshotting Twitter threads. No more endless scrolling!
- (2025-02-19) league Media: incredible sound and smooth flow top notch
- (2025-02-19) Rebort S: BBC news in my ears all day as a back radio
- (2025-02-19) Jason Horkley: This extension has been fantastic, but the recent addition of random speech breaks really ruins it. I get that it costs money to run servers, but I don't really see how these random breaks can help other than annoy the users into paying. Maybe an option to locally run the processing could be added?
- (2025-02-16) Joshua Russell (HunterKillsAll): Josh is the best voice, great stuff!
- (2025-02-14) Alex Hels: turned my kindle into audiobook heaven!
- (2025-02-09) Md Sohag: Pretty neat for catching up on industry news during my commute. Wish the app remembered my place when I pause though.
- (2025-02-06) Eloise Long: Technical writer's dream come true! Readvox makes dry docs in Google Docs sound almost exciting. Clients are impressed!
- (2025-02-05) Cassandra Rector: Decent for reddit
- (2025-02-04) Christina Richmond: Snippet tool is a game-changer for research papers on Science Direct.
- (2025-01-29) Sakihh Gh: Love the snippet feature for memes! It's hilarious hearing AI read out meme text. Sometimes misses the joke tho lol 😂
