- The free tier is unusable, every minute you get an break which makes it useless.. The plans are not reasonable either. Gemini pro ai is free for students for a year. Ill switch to another extension that doesnt bother you each minute when trying to study.

- I've been looking for a free tts extension that would actually work on my ~60k manuscript documents, and this is the absolutely best by far. When I hear a mistake, I can click and correct it without affecting the narration! A miracle! The array of voices is truly incredible, and I love that I can pick one that sounds right for my book. I took off one star because sometimes words run together (Ex. "Just us" turned into "Justis") , and the voices don't recognize em dashes (which I use liberally in my writing) or ellipses. It also seems to stop after each chapter which isn't a big deal, but if I'm doing something like cleaning, it can be annoying to go press play after each chapter. Sometimes freezes up between pages too. Lastly, I know this is an English narration, but I do wish it could recognize Hispanic names. It keeps reading my Mexican characters' names in an aggressively American way (Aa-lay-jawn-droh lol). That being said, the AI voice does a great job tackling my made-up language and names. Even the pauses to advertise the premium are minimal and to the point. Honestly, if this thing works this well for the entire 60k doc, I'll pay for premium.

- This is one of the most natural-sounding text-to-speech extensions l've tried so far. I've used others in the past, but they sounded robotic. I tested several more recently, and this one quickly became my go-to.

- So far so good I'm liking it

- I have been using this extension for a little over a week and it has been great so far, with a few hiccups. One positive is that this thing just works. I have used quite a few text-to-speech applications in the past and this one is definitely near the top. The UI is easy to use, the speech can be customized to a degree, and the price-point is just right. It's not all great though ... the constant pausing is super annoying, I cannot get through a single page of content without it pausing and telling me to upgrade to premium for a pause-free experience. I know you have to advertise your product, and I respect it, I wish there was a balance that benefited both parties, the consumer and developer. Secondly, a lot of the voices are just unusable. They sound absolutely terrible an robotic, you have to spend some time going through nearly all of the voices to bookmark the ones you like or can at least tolerate. The last thing I would mention, is that I wish that I could customize the speech pattern a little more. There are times when the voice doesn't pause when it is supposed to like after a colon, an example of this is like when there is a term that is being defined, it usually has a format like, Dog: A four legged creature, instead of pausing for a beat after Dog, it just reads it like one sentence. Some voices deal with this better than others. All in all a great product and I will be recommending it to everyone I know who's looking for something like this.

- The voices sound really good, but it reads EVERYTHING on the page. You can use a nsippet tool but it doesnt scroll with your mouse, so when trying to read books off of sites like wattpad (for the nosy, wings upon a change) it rads the likes, comments, views, the side panel, the recommendations etc. not good. The voices though, those are good. just sucks I cant use it :/ everything else is "pay or have this terrible default tts you can find anywhere else"

- Honestly, pretty solid extension. The voices sound clean and natural, not that robotic stuff you usually get. I’ve been using it to listen to articles and docs while doing other stuff, and it just works smooth. Super handy for multitasking or when my eyes are tired. Would love to see even more voice options in the future, but yeah — overall, it’s a W.
- Mohammad Wildan
- Honestly didn’t expect it to be this good. The voices sound super natural — not that robotic stuff most TTS extensions have. I’ve been using it while reading articles and doing chores, and it just works smooth. Free version’s already solid, but the paid one’s cheap if you ever wanna level up. Kinda feels like having a mini podcast made outta whatever I’m reading lol. Definitely keeping this one installed.
- Thao Thao
- I was blown away by the natural AI voices in the free version of Readvox—it’s the best TTS I've used, hands down. I personally use the Chris voice; his slow and calm tone is fantastic for relaxing reading! I've tried so many text-to-speech options, and most are just too expensive. This is an absolute steal with the price and the same fantastic voice quality. For a genuinely cheap price, you unlock so many features that turn every article into a personal podcast. It's a massive productivity booster for a tiny investment. Seriously, grab the free one, and you’ll be upgrading in no time!

- I cant believe how useful this is! I use it every day. Super intuitive and works great with all of the things in browser that I would rather have dictated then have to read myself.

- This was a great add-on. I had a lot of reading to do for a course on System Design but it was all text (no video tutorials). ReadVox made this so much easier as it allowed me to do chores while listening to the content! Highly recommended.

- This has been an invaluable extension which I have been using while doing my Health and Safety exams. Listening to a three page scenario rather than having to read it is fantastic. I highly recommend this add on.

- installed and have no idea how to actually access it

- This is a super helpful extension considering I have a very difficult time focusing on papers via traditional reading methods. Having Readvox as an assistant was a massive transformation in my ability to get through academic papers. It's super versatile. I did try it for Zotero web app, but it didn't seem to work. I wonder if it's because of some sort of blocking mechanism. If that is figured out, it would be huge!

- Most natural sounding free tts I've found Also, hi dev! Question, is the program actually running on a server, or is it running from my computer? I've found 2 things when running the tts that make it seem like the voices are being processed natively and not on a server somewhere. Thanks for an awesome tts!
- mat0x
- Affordable compared to the other similar TTS. It helps me focus and works really well!

- they push to get you to buy premium in the most annoying way

- I am floored by how good Readvox is. I am a teacher and run a virtual D&D campaign for some of my at-risk students. The other "voices" I have found on similar programs are laughably bad compared to Readvox. I have found the Vera voice to be exceptional at reading D&D adventure intros and the like. It’s also a great tool for some of my improving readers who are encountering advanced vocabulary. Thank you, Readvox, for the assist.
- Mike L
- This has been exactly what I need. I am a very slow reader and easily lose focus, then having to reread what I just read if I can find my place again. Lot of wasted time. I like that I adjust the speed and length of pauses in sentences. Acronyms can be programmed easily to be read out fully.
- james smith
- This is a hit. I cannot remember the last time I got so much reading done! Five stars
- Apple Jack
- Been using it for several months now. The voice quality is good. I prefer listening to "Nora" as default. I wish that they support more languages and fix some pronunciation problems in the near future. Good service and reasonably priced in my opinion.
- Phutiana Phillip (Ynbeatzzz)
- Nice voices, but dont like the fact that it reads the whole page, it would be sick if i just highlight and it reads the parts i highlighted
- Marshal Walker
- Although imperfect, Readvox is smooth, simple to install and integrates easily into your daily workflow. Most importantly, the Quality to Price Ratio is excellent.

- Readvox is the solution I've been looking for. I can finally listen to the the digital stories and articles I've saved over the years. Perfect for multitasking. I especially love the small dim tooltip that appears for easy access and control.
- Ramon Cuevas
- Really enjoy the features available for free. There is almost no need to upgrade. If you plan on being a serious user or simply need it then it still a fair priced tool. I look forward to improvements and appreciate finding the extension.
- Marcus
- I've tested most of the TTS services. I've just found this one, and it is amazing, seamless, easy, best voices, wonderful app.
- Muhamed Mustafa
- The extension is great and I really liked it. However, I wish it supported reading texts in Arabic, a language spoken by over a billion people.

- Awesome App

- An absolutely great TTS reader. The voice selections are rich and varied, the voice control overlays are clean and unobtrusive, and the feature set and voice options are not bloated but concise and well thought out. MOST IMPORTANTLY it's one of the few natural voice AI TTS readers that DOES NOT HAVE CHARACTER COUNT LIMITATIONS FOR FREE USE that completely disable the extension when the limit is reached! It takes a different approach by simply having a 10-ish second "speech break" every so often. And although I think these "speech breaks" should probably be a little further apart, at least it still allows continued free use with a tolerably short, but frendly (:-), audio advert, without completely disabling the extension. The SECOND MOST IMPORTANT aspect of this extension is that its paid subscription model is not rediculiously expensive. Most natural voice TTS AI readers are well over $100/year with many at over $200/year. This one, at the time of this review, and with the various discounts, is around $55-ish a year, which is less than $5 per month. If you use TTS a lot, this is well worth the value for this TTS AI reader. The only feature that I can see that it is missing is the ability to download the TTS speech in audio format. However, I have read on some message boards that this feature has been put on the top part of the new "future development" feature stack, so we'll see. All I can say is that if you use TTS, don't walk, RUN, to get this extension! You won't regret it if you need real time TTS browser integrated features.
- Stoli Pants
- I understand not everything can be free, and I understand this is a product that is mostly trying to push subscriptions like every other thing in the world now. However, it's the amount with which it interrupts you to loudly advertise at you in audio form. I will never use this again. It was really bad at pronunciation anyway, and would have required way too much fiddling to fix, and it requires you to sign up just to do simple things like that. The voice options weren't that great either
- Jean-Philippe Ménier
- I tried the free version. Its great that you have UI that allows you adjust the speech whenever you want and select what part of the article you want to read. Source of improvement: Speech to feel a bit less robotic and showing where the AI is reading on your screen
- Carter Brown
- Broken Scam do not pay for premium!! Been using this for college reading, got tired of the ads begging me to upgrade every five min. Reached out of a student discount, got the upgrade and now its reading gibberish. Will be finding a better extension. Do not buy the upgrade its broken and not worth it even with a discount. I would rate 0 stars if I could.

- Handy Chrome extension that reads webpages aloud clearly. Great for multitasking, accessibility, and reducing screen strain. Simple, effective, and easy to use.

- As someone who is living with dyslexia, I am unsure how I managed anything before I has readvox. It works on all of my platforms I need, with voices that sound natural and not grating on the ears. It is so simple to use and help me when I'm on the run. Can't rave more about it.
- Larry Hirschhorn
- Easy to use and a better, easier interface than the 3 others I have used (2 for Chrome and the free one with Edge). Nice choice of voices with a fresh clean settings interface. I'll be recommending this extension to others. My eyes appreciate this reader, especially since I have issues with glasses Rx because the VA can't get it right.

- Readvox sets a new standard for text-to-speech apps. With its natural voice quality, intuitive design, and seamless performance, it easily outshines competitors like Speecify. Whether you're reading articles, reviewing content, or just multitasking, Readvox delivers a smoother, clearer, and more enjoyable experience. It’s fast, reliable, and refreshingly easy to use — exactly what a modern TTS app should be.

- I've used this reader for a while, and it is good! Natural sounding speech unlike the weird one that comes with Kindle. I specifically use it for reading business books on kindle. Price is fair too!
