X2Markdown is a lightweight Chrome extension that converts visible webpage content into clean Markdown with one right-click — ready to paste into LLM conversations, personal knowledge bases, or note-taking tools.

It works on any webpage, and provides dedicated extraction for x.com posts and longform articles.

Key features:
- Right-click any webpage to copy the article body as Markdown
- Selection-first: select text to copy just that portion, or copy the full page when there is no selection
- Generic webpage mode extracts title, site name, author, publish time, body, and image links
- Powered by Mozilla Readability for reliable article extraction across blogs, docs, forums, and issue pages
- On x.com, extract posts with author, handle, time, URL, body, quoted posts, and image links

- Automatically expand truncated posts before copying

Current limitations:
- Generic mode works best on article-style pages; homepages and navigation pages may need selection mode
- x.com extraction may break if the page structure changes significantly
- Videos, GIFs, and polls are not exported
- Does not bypass login walls, paywalls, or unrendered content
