Word Counter is very small and intends to give you a convenient word count without you having to out of your way while browsing.
Simply select the text that you would like to get a count on, right click on the text, and select the Word Counter icon; you will be greeted with a small alert, telling you word count, character count, and character count, excluding spaces.

Nice, but I'm not a fan of context menu accessed counters. This requires a right click, going to the tab, and then a left click. There are others that do it easier.
Inaccurate word count!
very easy to use but i think it need an extra feature: keyboart shortcut to activate it without the needing of using the mouse
Using this for several months. In my weblog writing, I need an approximate number of words before I insert a graphic. This tool is very helpful for that. I was a bit bothered that there is no keyboard shortcut, but then, since the section to be counted needs to be highlighted, I'm holding the mouse anyway so the right-click and select part of the procedure is no problem. It works well in my experience on several Chromium-based browsers.

It was very easy to use! I loved how you just had to highlight your document and left click it and boom, the extension is right there, you click it and see all the words/characters. Totally recommend this to others, would use again.
This is my first time using this great extension. It met my expectations! It's also very simple to use and flashes the necessary details only. When I checked the word count in Word-it's the same! I'll definitely use this from now on. It will help me in my writing.
This tool is inaccurate. It often joins two words together which results in a word count that is less than how many words were really written. I compared the results from this program to Google Docs and Word and found out this program has some serious flaws.
it does exactly what it says it does, it counts words, characters and characters without spaces. i highly recommend this extension, it is very useful for writers as well.

Just doesn't work... Tried to count a 301 word paragraph, told me it was 240 words. Y I K E S

Works on websites. But doesn't seem to work on .pdf documents opened in chrome.
I just needed a quick and easy way to see if my students' submitted answers met the word count minimum, and this tool is perfect. I used to cut and paste the answers into Word to accomplish this count, but now I can do everything in the browser. Thanks so much for this simple, time-saving extension.

Light and work flawlessly!
Рабочее расширение! Чётко считает количество: знаков без пробелов, слов, знаков с пробелами. Одинаково хорошо подсчитывает знаки как на русском, так и на английском. Никаких лишних наворотов - она просто тут же выдаёт подсчитанный текст. Просто выделяешь текст - клацаешь правой кнопкой мыши - выбираешь "Count this words" - появляется маленькое окошко по центру экрана с данными на английском, которое не исчезает пока не нажмёшь на крестик в углу.
