eBay Fee Calculator - Final Value Fees & Profit Margin
Description from store

See what an eBay sale really leaves you, before you list or buy.

Open any eBay item and click the icon: the calculator reads the price, shipping, title, image and category from the page and shows your final value fee, per-order fee, expenses, profit, margin and break-even price. Change any number and everything recalculates.

WHAT IT KNOWS

- Current eBay fee tables for eBay.com, eBay.co.uk, eBay.ca, eBay.com.au and eBay.de, with the category the item is listed in detected automatically (or picked by hand)
- Seller type: no store or store subscription in the US and Canada, Pro plans in Australia, business with or without a Shop (Basis, Top, Premium, Platin) in Germany, private or business seller in the UK
- Top Rated discount, international buyer fee, Promoted Listings percentage, sales tax collected, and a manual fee override for any other eBay site
- A per-line fee breakdown in the Fees tooltip, so the number is never a black box
- Your costs and settings are remembered between uses

HOW IT WORKS

1. Open an eBay item page.
2. Click the eBay Fee Calculator icon.
3. Enter what the item and the shipping cost you. Profit and break-even price update as you type.

It also works as a plain calculator on any other tab: type the item price and shipping yourself.

PRIVACY

Fees are computed in your browser. Prices, costs and item details never leave it. The extension only sends anonymous usage events (which screen was opened, which settings were changed) and error reports to 3Dsellers, plus the text you type into "Report a bug" or "Suggest a feature". No account is needed.

Use caution when you are using this, I don't recommend using it to calculate your expected profit if you are working with thinner margins. It's a good tool to get a ball park idea. The reason for this is as others have mentioned. 1. eBay now calculates it's managed payments fees directly into the category fees, not individually. 2. eBay's fees are category based and vary pretty significantly ranging from 2.5% to 14.95%. This would be an accurate tool if it kept a database of all category %'s and used those %'s when calculating the costs. This would of course require you to choose which category you are listing it in. If not a requirements at least there should be an option for this for those who need to rely on the calculator when calculating profits.

Pros: -Automatically pulls item price -Simple layout Cons: -Incorrectly adds managed payment fees on top of final value fees (these are included in final value fees) -Does not use the category of the item to apply the correct final value fee % -Does not take into account any ebay store subscriptions with adjusted final value fees If this extension had a simple settings menu that allowed users to pick which payment processor they use and any store subscriptions they have, it would be much more useful.

This tool would be a thousand times better if it read the category of the item and then showed the appropriate managed payment fees for items in that category as currently it only takes the price from the listing which isn't great. This would also benefit from having a section to enter your promoted listings advertising percentage as this greatly affects the profit.
