ChatGPT for WhatsApp is a handy extension that allows you to automatically respond to WhatsApp messages using the power of AI. This plugin currently supports ChatGPT, Bing Chat, and Google Bard.
Here's how it works:
1. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chatgpt-for-whatsapp/ajlcjjeepijhfbgkciegfdoklpcpmipk.
2. Choose your preferred AI source and enable the bot state.
3. Open WhatsApp Web at https://web.whatsapp.com.
4. Trigger the bot reply by using the @gpt command in private chat or when someone mentions you in a group chat. The extension will then automatically reply with a response generated by the AI.

- (2023-11-09) Bashar Al Masri: I want to bring your attention to some issues I've encountered with this extension. Firstly, it doesn't remember the initial prompt and sends each chat message as a new request to GPT, causing the context of the chat to be lost. This makes it difficult to fine-tune the GPT model. Additionally, the default prompt is sent with each chat message, which further complicates the refining process of the GPT output. Moreover, the extension lacks the ability to provide status updates or a summary of the chat as a CSV file. Typically, we use such extensions to have automated status updates, but without this feature, it's not possible. I recommend adding a function that asks GPT for the chat outcome after a certain period of inactivity, say five minutes. The outcome can be returned as a JSON file and saved to the local storage for convenience.
