Breathe a little culture into your day! Discover a beautiful artwork from Google Arts & Culture each time you open a new tab in Chrome.
With this extension, in every new Chrome tab you’ll see masterpieces ranging from Van Gogh and Monet, all the way to contemporary works from street artists around the world. The artwork is refreshed every day, or you can change the settings to see a new image every time you open a new tab.

- Too much late 19th, early 20th century white guy art. I would like more view points. As a mid 20th century white guy, I think that's ok for me to say. I appreciate the effort though, and I still use it on one browser. Thanks

- I've always loved this feature but several years ago it's as if someone got cheap, lazy or both and limited the number of materials presented. They brag, "GAC collaborates with over 2,000 museums, galleries, and cultural organizations across the globe" but apparently limits the rotation of subject matter here to *maybe* a few dozen pieces with rare, if ever any, updates. With ALL of the money being made from our pennies added to most everything we purchase going into their pockets one would think the least that they could do is assign a couple people to rotating the catalog displayed.

- Please give access to more art. Simply add more or let users decide what they want to see, based on keywords or category. Extension works fine, but it needs more images.

- Love it. Nitpick: the images end up repeating after sometime and it gets boring. I bet that the selection is limited. Why not add ALL the art you have in stock?

- I love seeing the art! But I recommend to deactivate the Chrome apps and top sites in the extension settings to make it look cleaner.

- Loved it, until for fun I went through all of the images. And recognized they're on a loop. What a bummer. Maybe I'm wrong, and it will update but for now Ive seen all the 50 images. Don't do what I did I guess.

- Great app, but has some problems. It would be great to have a history of viewed images. Sometimes (because of the delay in loading an image) you already entered URL and clicked enter and in this second you see a great image but it is lost because you are navigated to a website. So it would be great to see history of images you saw. After a new update you get a black screen with a small label saying "loading..." before an image is presented. Before this you did not have to wait at all, with every new tab image was loaded instantly.

- this is such a great extension if you appreciate human art. i have been using it since it was the google art project. i would give it six stars if that were possible. if you find that you are getting a black screen - this appears to be an artefact of a recent update. "turn it it off and on again" - a quick uninstall and re-install will fix the problem.

- Extension was also stuck on a black screen for every new tab but after removing it & readding it the issue seems to be fixed!

- was working fine until yesterday when it gets stuck on a black screen. Changed the settings to a new artwork on every new tab and now it occasionally load a new artwork, or it will refresh sometimes to an image that works, but the majority of images just show a black screen.

- Was a great extension, but stopped working recently? Never loads the background images anymore. Just black. Seems stuck on trying to load Flight Pattern by Rob Evans at James A. Michener Art Museum.

- This is a great extension, thank you for making it! However, the recent update shows "Loading..." text, which is annoying. Could you please remove it — blank screen is perfectly fine until the picture loads.

- I enjoy seeing a new painting every day. But this extension needs to be updated so that, when clicking on the "Default new tab" button, it opens the URL "chrome://new-tab-page" instead of "chrome-search://local-ntp/local-ntp.html", which doesn't work anymore. It's a very simple change. Please...

- There is a new bug, when you turn on the "Default new tab" button from options and you press the upper left button to open "the default new tab" you get the URL chrome-search://local-ntp/local-ntp.html with the error "This site can’t be reachedThe webpage at chrome-search://local-ntp/local-ntp.html might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. ERR_INVALID_URL" Tried this on multiple computers, I believe it is extention wide and is not my setup's fault.

- Love the idea, wish it was executed better. - After just a while you notice the pool of artworks really isn't that large, the same stuff tends to circulate quite often - Low quality images, and even then often very unflatteringly cropped. Adding borders to keep the right proportions would be much more respectful to the artwork in my opinion.

- My friend recommended it to me and I just tried it out today. It works, and does exactly what it says in the description. It's great, the artworks are very picturesque, but there are a few nit-picky points I'd like to say. The resolution isn't the highest, but it isn't extremely low either. I have to press the refresh button myself when I want to see a different artwork, and I would have liked it if the extension did that itself every time I opened a new tab page.

- I LOVE Google Arts & Culture and for many years I'm constantly visiting their app on my phone. However, despite of the fact that I was extremely happy to see this chrome extension, I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the pictures that show up on the background. Especially I have a huge monitor with 4k display and the paintings just don't feel beautiful. I'm not sure if there are ways to fix this issue, but nevertheless Arts & Culture project is amazing by itself.

- C'est génial...de l'art pour partir 5 secondes ailleurs à chaque clic de chaque nouvel onglet de Chrome. Une visite internationale comme on ne pourra jamais en faire dans une vie; un bemol : les oeuvres ne s'adaptent pas à l'ecran et sont agrandies demesurement parfois. Mais le problème sera sûrement amelioré à terme...

There are many that make my life significantly easier and more efficient, but this one stitches moments of enjoyment and contemplation between humdrum web-browsing tasks. It's exposed me to new favorite artists - and even a painting I hung a print of in my home. It stopped working yesterday, and I and, it seems, a number of others here, already badly miss it. Please fix this quickly, Google friends. Not to do so would be evil - and I hear y'all don't be that.
