- Hi everyone :) I’ve tried a lot of chrome extensions for downloading images and this one is easily among the best. It strikes a balance between simplicity and powerful functionality so it's quite useful whether you’re saving a few pics or doing more intense stuff like content curation or design research. The best feature is its format options. Being able to download images directly as WEBP, PNG, or JPG without needing external converters is a huge time-saver for me. WEBP is great for smaller file sizes (even though it's annoyingly not compatible with a bunch of sites :P), PNG preserves quality and transparency, and JPG works perfectly for everyday use. Having all three options built right into the extension means I can choose exactly what I need in the moment instead of dealing with extra steps later. Yay! The interface is clean and intuitive. Once you install it, it integrates super cleanly into the browser with no clutter, no confusing menus, etc. You can download individual images within 2 click. The bulk-selection capability is also nice for offline works. Performance wise it’s fast and reliable. My downloads always start instantly and there’s no noticeable slowdown even when grabbing multiple images at once through the bulk feature. Another thing I'll mention is how well it handles different websites. Some extensions break or fail to detect images depending on the site structure but this one works pretty consistently across a wide range of pages, including social media, news sites, everything even my cousins personal site :P. Bottom line for me is that this extension delivers exactly what it promises. Easy 5 stars rec from my side!

- Warning: Privacy Red Flag! I’m uninstalling this extension immediately. The new Terms of Service reveal that it now runs "background functions" for the company’s SEO and marketing interests. A simple image downloader has no business using my browser to boost third-party websites in the background. It’s a huge privacy risk and a waste of system resources. What used to be a great tool now feels like a data-mining operation. Avoid.

- Works like a charm

- Great Useful tool, wish we could configure it to set a default download directory

- All good things come to an end. The authors have updated their TOS and it is bad bad bad. Malware and collecting and harvesting your data. Possibly more without your consent behind the background while you browse among other things. Read their TOS if you care about your privacy uninstall this and seek another plugin of the "Save Image As" variety. It's too bad too this was really useful.

- MALWARE - STAY AWAY New ToS Update says: "The Extension may also run background functions that support the ongoing operation and improvement of the Company's operations and affiliated businesses, including measuring and improving the visibility and distribution of Company, its customers, and affiliated properties through search engine optimization activities." Translation: the extension reserves the right to use your browser to make background requests on behalf of the company and its paying customers for "SEO activities." In practice that almost always means one (or several) of: Link/click fraud — your browser silently visits pages or clicks links to inflate traffic or manipulate search rankings for their clients. Residential proxy behavior — your IP gets used as an exit node for third-party scraping, since requests from real residential IPs bypass anti-bot defenses. Referrer/affiliate injection — hijacking outbound links to attribute commissions. Data harvesting — logging the URLs you visit to sell as a clickstream dataset (this is the "Nacho Analytics" playbook that got a bunch of extensions yanked from the Chrome store in 2019).

- How does this have 4.4 stars? It constantly refuses to respond, I try to save an image multiple times and then 3 minutes later I finally get multiple pop ups to save the file - every time it does this.
- Fluffy Chops
- Pretty good, does the job well. Only two things I don't as like about this. 1. There is no preference settings type to speed up the process. Something that would be great. Since yes, its tad slower via this. I know its only one extra click to save images via this, but when you do 8 or more in a row, it will feel sluggish to use. 2. the files names will always be Image_ and then followed by a bunch of numbers. IDK if its cause sites are hiding that file data, but if it can be added so this grabs the name so user like me don't have to keep renaming the files for every single file they ever do that be just wonderful. Also this part isn't considered into my rating reasoning as its to me a none issue. But still want to inform others consider getting this. It increases the size of a range of around 20-47kb more. Seems the reason why it would cause every images or at least I've gotten at the time of writing this, has been in 96 DPI. Just saying, I'm sure someone out there would care of this info.

- It also has malware via hidden iframe injection 😕. I found another clean extension which works well .here https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/save-image-in-any-format/jdidigbghempbkmmalgigikajlgpafhm
- Jamie Owens
- Agreed it IS MALWARE, SAME COPY PASTE just as the one before it.. Quoting other reviewer ( I HAVE PERSONALLY VERIFIED AND AGREE): the remote-controlled hidden iframe injection via saveimgastype.com/v1/feature-flags. That's the genuinely concerning behavior — everything else in the extension is either legitimate image conversion code or standard framework internals. TL;DR — one real issue, and it's a bad one: The extension phones home to its own server, receives a list of target websites, and silently loads them in hidden full-screen iframes for likely ad fraud purposes. I'd recommend removing it.
