- extremely useful. Saves time and money. Previously in 2024 I used an open source repo in github and spent 2 hours setting it up. With this extension I paid and in 10 minutes i resolved the duplicates from 2006. thanks God bless Bendiciones

- It is a very useful extension. Worth every cent. Some features (suggestions) that could improve the extension are: 1. Identifying corrupted photos/images (example: I have jpgs that are completely gray or 70-90% gray/or other colors): (identifying large blocks/areas of the same color); unnatural colors, digital green-purple.

- Several phones backup to our g.pix account, so the duplicates can add up. Google carried over no features from Picassa, and I stumbled on this while doing some manual deletions. Hands down one of the best, solutions to 'thin the herd' of HEIC and .jpg duplicates.

- It works pretty well! My biggest complaint is that I have a lot of photos in B&W and color, and it thinks these are the same photos. It'd be nice if it could distinguish the difference.

- Just what I needed! and did what it said, no issues, had to make sure I filtered and did by year as I had so many photos. The odd "crash" but did what I needed and very happy.

- Great tool, you'll need to get the reasonably priced pro version to get much use from it but it's worth it. The only thing I would add as a filter would be the ability to choose by album.

- Perfect, as described. Don't listen to the haters, the directions are made VERY clear and easy. Was collaborating a shared album from lots of sources and this was the perfect solution instead of combing through 500+ shots. 10/10 would buy again.

- Does what it should and pretty effectively. It just takes you having a bit of time on your hands if you have as many photos as I did, but it was worth it. Take the instructions' advice and review the photos it marked as duplicates. It's not 100%, especially if you're someone like me who takes ten shots of one photo to make sure you get a good one. The review process also helps find photos it may have missed (rare, but it happened), and other photos you just don't want. But I'm not sure that anything could be 100% accurate, and this is pretty darn close. The only issue is Google Photos itself doesn't like to delete a lot at once all the time, apparently (this is in their FAQs I found out)...so sometimes when you hit delete, nothing happens right away, and you think it didn't work. But it will eventually. I went back a while later and realized they actually were deleted. If there were some way they could find a way around this (I know the FAQs say they can't do anything about it, but it's really the only con about the whole thing), it would make this a five star app for sure. If you scan for photos with 100% match, it will say no duplicates (file name variations? not sure what the issue was here cause I KNOW there were many exact duplicates, but I'm not a programmer, so i'm not sure what would make it say there weren't). I knew that was wrong so I set it at 98% and it found all the exact duplicates. It's a VERY HELPFUL extension. I suggest the pro version, it's worth it.

- I love this extension so much, I bought it twice (for a separate google account as well)! It does exactly what's supposed to do: showing you a comparisson of the similar photos then select the duplicates to erase them. It's possible to modify the logic of the selection. I do recommend checking out what has been selected, because in some cases, personal preference beats image quality. This extenssion saved me from manually going through all 25k photos, by just showing me the cases I had very similar or repeated images. I got 10Gb of storage back between those two accounts. - So, After reading some reviews I decided to try it anyway. The developer is really good at gaslighting those that disagree with him I noticed-so fully expecting it here. The extension is ok, its by far not great and at best mildly useful, if you have a whole lot of time. I did not do the paid version, as the free version was so lackluster that I was not going to risk the paid version being about the same, or not much better. It did find some duplicates, but made it more trouble than it was worth to delete the duplicates it did find, and sent me looking for another app to do it. Having to click on the photo link (to go into google photos to the actual photo), then manually delete it, then go back to the search, yeah too much wasted time.

- This is one amazing app. It is actually the first time I have used an AI style of app and at first I was a little confused as to how to filter pictures or select albums because I was only looking at the actual de-dupe extension's interface - but then I suddenly realized this duplicate remover actually scrolls through your actual google photos screen in real, but fast time and evaluates the pictures on your screen. So if you filter a person or album for example on the screen in Google photos then that selection is what will be evaluated for duplicates. It is an extraordinary app with filter selections that are remembered. If you are reading this review then you need to buy the pro version. It is only a one off, very reasonable purchase and the results and flexibility will astound you. It is also fantastic for say regular monthly maintenance of your photos if you say sync whatsapp or other media to your google photos. Then you can just de-dupe the low resolution rubbish from your social media uploads and voila - you have a clean Google photos. And just ignore the negative reviews below. They literally have no idea how to use this app and I would hazard a guess that they probably don't know how to use Google photos either and that basically their photo filing and storage is a mess. By the way, don't forget to display and check for dupes your archive page as well.

- Well, this isn't very useful extension, this extension was exactly one I was looking for but after scanning it only gave me few photos option to delete and asking for pro version. That made me frustrated because it's useless if you can delete for than few images where I wanted hundreds of images to delete. πππ©πππ’π£ππ₯ π’π‘ππ¬ πͺππ‘π§π¦ π§π’ π πππ π π’π‘ππ¬.

- This doesn't work with large libaries 5,000+ photos videos but the developer purposely doesn't note this in his description. When you ask for a refund he says it's a known problem with Google photos. If it's a known problem maybe you should let people know before you buy it you douche.

- I loaded tens of thousands of images into Google Photos for my mother. She had thumb drives and external hard drives filles with pictures, and an awful lot were duplicates. I purchased the PRO version of this tool and it worked perfectly! I set the duplicate threshold high (95%) to ensure it found only true duplicates, as saving space wasn't an issue. The interface was easy to understand and I found it to be incredibly fast and efficient. I really like when a developer provides something that should be baked in to a program's interface, as this should for Google Photos. I could not be happier with my purchase. Many thanks to the developers!

- Great tool, works perfectly. It would be nice to also have the ability to select duplicates for deletion based on the start of the photo name. i.e. If a photo has its original filename, e.g. "PXL*****" or "IMG*****", then it could be marked for deletion instead of photos that have already been given a meaningful name like "Dinner with friends.jpg".

- Works really well. I had more than thirty-thousand images in Google Photos and so set this extension working on a year at a time. It sits there doing its stuff and I found myself relying on the AI selection because it seemed to select them exactly as I would have done manually. Now, I only have one instance of each image, having used this extension to move duplicates to the archive and then deleted them.

- This is very buggy. I bought this extension app and it worked the first time only. Two stars for "this can work with much better software quality control". Subsequent uses failed completely, finding no duplicates when I'm staring at over thirty duplicates on the screen. Great idea but dev needs much more robust regression testing.

- Very good app, it really helped me remove duplicates. Hope you can support this apps as long as you can. Btw, please fix the privacy link (at the bottom of the extension page in browser) on your web, sometime I read the privacy policy on apps that I use to ensure my privacy.

- Idea is great, but it does not function! Before buying PRO , I wanted to at least see that it does something.. I tried both Chrome and Edge extensions, both on full photo set and on a single album. The absolute latest version. Every time it performs the scan and when the scan finished I get the message : There is another scan in progress running for 0 seconds. Obviously there is not, and the 0 seconds time kind of gives it away as a bug.

- A few days ago, I tested the free version of Google Photos Duplicate Remover and for now the 3 stars rating is for the free version as it successfully found duplicates. It ran smoothly and gave me an overview of the duplicates it found at the end. However, considering the size of my image collection and the number of duplicates, it was too tedious for me to delete each image individually. So today I bought the Pro version and, as recommended, selected one month/year with 538 images in my case, mainly because I know that there are many duplicates in this period. Duplicate RemoverPhotos does not find a single duplicate. I adjusted the similarity percentage several times, but always with the same result: no duplicates. Very disappointing, because now I'm back where I started. I have about 15,000 images in Google Photos, many of which are duplicates, and I would like to organize them. Unfortunately, none of this works. The only thing that works reliably is the slider - Hide similar images in the Google Photos app (mobile). Unfortunately, this doesn't give me any storage space back. I'm a bit frustrated but still open for suggestions. Maybe the error is sitting in front of the computer. lol

- Good for cleaning up 2 duplicates after looping through all your photos - without buying you have to dumb select the limited 2 sets of duplicates. And hit the thank you button as if this would have been the job done.

- Overall this is a very, very good extension with amazing features! I really want to rate it a perfect 5 stars except for the items: Sometimes a photo appears in a group which looks very different from the other photos in it, and should have been located into another group. The AI smile detection is great! I do hope though that the AI capabilities can be expanded though to account for the type of object(s) in the photo when making comparisons.

- So far so good. There is nothing else on the market that does what this does. I have been looking for something to sort out the fact that I have thousands of duplicate photos in Google Photos library and this really seems to do the trick. It's flexible so that you can tweak the settings to increase your hit rate, and they are actively developing it to improve it all the time.

- If Google had any sense, theyβd buy this app, reward the creator with a huge sum of $, and cut 5,000 of their own developers who couldnβt come up with anything close. It saves a crazy amount of time removing duplicates compared to other overcomplicated apps. Best of all, itβs NOT a subscription β just a one-time payment of a few euros (about two beers). - Very useful extension! This functionality was always missing in Google Photos and all other ways to find and remove duplicates - looked from very complicated to no longer working, but this extension - works! The developer is constantly upgrading the functionality and this extension is only getting better! You can search for duplicates both identical and simply similar photos to keep only one better, and delete unnecessary ones and not pay for storing photos that are not needed!!! Thank you, very good work!

- Started using this yesterday after I hit a threshold with my Google drive. Was surprised to see the lack of tools available from Google to help manage your duplicates. Found this after doing some research and so far its been great. Had one or 2 minor issues, but Aleksei has been quick to help and has even improved the product based on feedback. - Works great, the process of finding duplicates is easy and smooth. The prompts guide you very descriptively. At the end you delete the selected photos yourself to the Photos trashcan so if anything goes wrong you can easily restore them immediately. So far this is the only extension that delivers on this feature. Why this is not already part of the Photos?

- I've only had the time to test this a little bit, but so far it seems to 100% do what it claims. It will search your photos, find duplicates, and then allow you to remove them. It is a little janky at times (as are any Google extensions really) and can be a bit intimidating for less technical people. But overall, it fills a MUCH needed niche void that Google seemed unwilling to care about (probably because duplicates means $ for them). So if you find yourself running out of Google Photo space or, like me, just want to remove some duplicates.. this is the extension for you! At last, a Google photo duplicate remover that actually works.
