- (2023-03-17) Jordan Safer: TLDR: This has been an amazing extension! I've usually use website blockers to like Rescue Time or Leechblock to stop myself from getting easily distracted, but the delayed reward mechanism works much better. With the traditional website blockers, I find I'll turn off the website blocker for some seemingly important task, like responding to a facebook event, linkedin recruiter for a job, etc. Once I've turned off the blocker, I'll get distracted and sink hours into all the most distracting sites. At this point, I've built up a habit of just turning off the site blocker whenever I'm in the mood to scroll, it's just muscle memory. With this extension, it's a different story. If I truly need to visit a site, I just wait 30 seconds for the delay, and contemplate whether I really need to visit the site. If I really do, I will, but I never cascade into visiting multiple pages so the spiral stops in its tracks. Before 30 seconds of reflection are up, I usually realize I don't need to visit the site at all.
