Block/hide comment sections across the web (social media, news articles, blogs etc).
On a fresh installation, NoComment does not block any comments; if you'd like to block comments on specific websites/routes only, you can add those websites/routes to your "Blocklist".
If you prefer to block comments on all sites by default, you can do that, and add websites/routes to your "Allowlist" instead.
You can even use the wildcard selector "*" to block or allow comments on specific "routes" of a website.
Examples:
www.youtube.com/*
x.com/*/status/*
www.reddit.com/r/news/*
The first example blocks/allows all YouTube videos, the second blocks/allows all X statuses, and the third specifically only blocks/allows comments on all Reddit posts in the r/news subreddit.
You're also able to change the way the comments are hidden; by default they are "collapsed" and remove the space taken originally like they never existed, but this can be changed to "hidden" if you'd like to keep the empty space the comments originally took.
I'd appreciate a rating in the Google store, along with any constructive criticism you have!

- (2023-03-15) Josh Baer: Finally got it to do what I want (block comments mainly on YouTube and news sites), but it took more figuring out than I expected. If you're not tech saavy and just want a comment blocker you can install and not have to think about, this is probably not for you. I initially had it on universally, and didn't even realize it was interfering with functionality on sites I use for work. On one website (a client portal where I am required to upload files, which often are accompanied by notes) it showed comments I made previously, but prevented me from editing them. I had no idea this plugin was the issue until I turned it off and was able to edit. Whitelisting every site where it could possibly be an issue is impractical if not impossible. Now I have it set to only block certain sites, which took several attempts and going over the instructions multiple times (which only appear on a pop-up screen, making them hard to read). It is now functioning how I wanted, but if I'd realized how much trouble it was going to be, I would've tried others first. On the plus side, it doesn't interfere with ad blockers. Some of the other ones I tried first seemed to have a glitch on YouTube that would allow ads to get through on top of the video playing, and above the playlist, which was super annoying. This one hasn't had any such issues so far.

- (2021-05-27) 楊雁雯: In my case, it didn`t work on facebook. I can still see comments on it. Can you help me to fix it?
- (2021-01-24) Mike H: Works but doesn't work which is a bit of a pain. I primarily got this to hide the toxic comments on youtube which it does however it also blocks the comments for channels I've whitelisted unless I'm using the wildcard wrong which shouldn't be the case as it does kind of work but requires refreshing the video page which is rather annoying. So to get comments on a channels videos to appear I have to load the video, without the comments due to them being blocked, then I have to refresh the page and the comments will appear. Also the settings page is a small floating window which I have to scroll left and right and up and down to change the settings which makes it very annoying to do. Overall the extension does it's job but is annoying and not worth the hassle if I'm honest.
- (2020-11-05) Maria S: The plugin describes itself as blocking 'comment sections' on 'social media, news, etc.' In reality it is blocking way more than that. This extension blocks medical provider comments on MyChart (a commonly used medical portal that allows communication between patients and their providers), I assume because it has the word comment in the header or something. It is not obvious to the user that a section of the page they are viewing is being hidden by a chrome plugin. This is dangerous. Users don't realize it's affecting the site, don't know to turn it off, and are missing medical information that their doctors specifically sent to them. Please fix this. At the very least - this plugin should be replacing sections with a 'hidden by nocomments extension' text instead of outright hiding them with no indication, so users have a chance to notice the issue on important sites.
- (2020-07-19) Vivek Shah: Nice extension works well. Some of the flaws in the extension :- 1. But it doesn't work on discuss.codechef.com. Check out any of the blog in that and comments are still visible. 2. It also hides the comment of my code in code editor online. This should be fixed.
- (2020-02-09) Y. M.: The best comments blocker. Only this one works everywhere. Other extension didn't block many comments which had a bad impact on my mental health. This extension cures me.
