Description from store Allows you to view, replay, analysis and share Chess PGN (Portable Game Notation) files from Google Drive. Once installed, you will be able to double click .pgn files in Drive to open them in a Chess game viewer. This application uses the excellent pgn4web open source project. For further help, you can press the [ESC] key in Chess PGN Viewer.

  • (2017-11-02) Spencer Finegold: Have a chrome book, tried to open .pgn with only one game several different ways, nothing worked. Tried a different .pgn, still nothing. Just brings me to a blank pinkish page every time. Maybe it's broken for now, will keep in hope of a fix.
  • (2017-08-31) Terry D.: Useless. Edit: Turns out it was me being useless. Finally worked out how to use the viewer and I am finding it adequate. Nothing flashy but it does the job it was created for. My main niggle with it is that I can only load one game to it at a time. Would be handy if it had the facility to load a folder full of games together rather than having to go back and load the next one. Then again, given my history with this app it's quite possible that I'm just not using it properly. In which case my main grumble is the poor explanation of how to use it.
  • (2016-12-18) Simple and easy to use. I'm enjoying this one 'cause you can choose any game from within any pgn database to replay it. Give it a try! To open databases and games first download them to Google Drive or any folder in there, then: On a desktop: 1. Go to My Drive and open your database 2. On top of the window that comes up, choose "Open with Chess PGN Viewer" ... Voila! On a Chromebook: 1. On the bottom of your screen find Launcher 2. Tap/click: Launcher /Files /My Drive /Choose your database and open it ... Voila! To see a list of the games in your database just tap/click: ....select from "x" games.... and choose any game from there. Simple!

  • (2016-01-20) Alok N. Singh: It's worse apps. Variations doesn't show up. There are better ones in chrome app store but it can't be worked with google drive
  • (2016-01-19) Christian Hartmann: This app is quiet useful. Important: It does not work when you open a pgn-file directly in a browser window. You need to upload the file to google-drive and then this app will work properly.
