Dualless is a poor man's dual monitor solution. It splits your browser windows into two by just 2 clicks. The ratio can be adjusted according to your needs.You may have a browser window showing on the right that occupy 30% of your screen. Then the rest of space leave to Google+.

The extension simulates the environment of dual monitor. Utilize the space for 16:9 monitor

Features

* Split current browser window into a pair. And resize their position and size according to the ratio specified by user. (3:7,4:6,5:5,6:4,7:3)

* Merge splitted browser windows back to a single window , or make it occupy the full screen area.

* MacOS X like windows management. When one of the splitted windows got focused, the other in pair will be shown together. They always occupy the whole screen.

* Press middle key on split window button will duplicate the current page on other window.

* Bookmark management. Relaunch your favior site in a new tab and windows will be splitted in the recorded ratio.

The software is released under open source license of GPL 2.0

色気米 2024-10-20: Hello, can you support shortcut keys to switch back and forth between two split screens? For example, to switch between 7:3 (with the ability for users to customize this ratio) and 1. There is also a bug where, after selecting option 1 or closing a window, the window is not fullscreen; there are gaps around the window.
Ryan Franks 2024-08-09: I will change it to 5 once someone tells me how to turn it off, surely just selecting the 1 option ( merge two windows into a maximized window) is not the way, why is there no toggle where you can simply just turn it off once you want to go back to normal.

R S 2023-12-31: Can't choose which windows out of several. It chooses for you. Very frustrating. Clicking the "1" box merges some other window at random into current one. This has no undo feature? Hitting the "1" multiple times merges all your windows into one, undoing your diligence in keeping tabs in separate windows. The window pairing function doesn't seem to work properly. All I need is to have two "NiftySplit" (see that extension) windows paired so that when one is active, the other appears on screen as well. This extension's options seem to imply that is possible, but it won't let me choose which two windows out of the available windows to use the extension on!

David Duffield 2022-06-15: It is a way to quickly adjust the size of two windows. It does not simulate two monitors as it claims. If it did, when I tried to maximize a window it would again put it in the pre-set layout. If I said to maximize a window, it would maximize it within the area/section it was in not back to your full monitor. Lastly, and something I didn't expect from it, you would be able to select a section/monitor to share during zoom or other screen shares. It does none of that. I'm sure it's fine for a different use case, but it doesn't do what it is advertised to do.
