If your X (formerly Twitter) following is a mess and you'd like to start afresh, look no further. X (Twitter) Mass Unfollow will automagically unfollow all or some of your following so you don't have to "clicky clicky" because let's face it, no one has the time for that.

USAGE
1. Visit https://x.com/following
2. Click "ALL" to unfollow all the people you follow on X (formerly Twitter) or "NOT FOLLOWING" to unfollow just the accounts you follow but are not following you back.
3. Use STOP to abort the whole process

OPTIONS
The extension can be configured from the options page.
*Exclude users*
Keep a whitelist of users (X handles/usernames) to not be unfollowed. This could be people that you both are following each other or not. X (formerly Twitter) handles added here will always be given priority regardless of the action button clicked.
*Stop after 1 minute*
The extension will stop running (unfollowing users) after 1minute from time started. If unchecked, it will run until there's no one to unfollow & you'd have to manually "STOP" the process as you see fit.
*Reload on finished*
Whether the extension should reload the current page after the running process is finished/done. By default, page will be refreshed. You can uncheck this to manually reload the page yourself.

The only shortcoming for me is that it wasn't able to do it all in one time, even after unselecting the stop after 1 minute. So each time it unfollowed a certain amount of accounts then I needed to start the unfollowing by the extension again. It saved me so much time! Thank you

- (2023-08-27) Andy Stinton: As another reviewer described on here, I'd opt to unzoom to 25% then zoom back in and repeat. The app is brilliant and allows hassle free and is relatively safe from what I've seen (api safety feature too). There is a slight issue in that it stops at around 30 or so and you have to reload after that. But at other times it will do near 50 or more. For the sheer ease and speed and the fact there are just no apps now offering this same kind of thing, I'd for sure give it five stars. Dev is a real unsung hero making the app freely available to users.
- (2023-07-12) Master Fuggi: Works ... kind of. When unfollowing accounts who do not follow me back, the tool hangs after every 20-30 accounts. One either has to restart the process by clicking the "Stop" and "Not following you" buttons or by waiting for the tool to run into the 1-minute timeout and then clicking both buttons again. Either way, it would be easier if the tool just automatically continues as long as the "Stop" button is not pressed.

Although the extension stops when I unfollow 62 people and doesn't seem to work, Maybe it's Twitter blocking me from unfollowing people so quickly? Anyway, I will try it again later, and hopefully it unfollows the remaining 400+ followers.

- (2022-10-23) Josh Deal: I feel this deserves 5 stars for being free. It doesn't work perfectly, but for free the value it provides is worth 5 stars. My account hasn't been banned and it took about 15 minutes to unfollow 1700 people. Much faster than manually unfollowing. A note to the dev, the script seems to stop unfollowing after 37 or 38 people about 30s in. Once, it got to 50. Another time, 12. On average, it hit 37 unfollows before stopping. It then runs another 30s without unfollowing and automatically stops. It wasn't that big a deal since you can manually stop and start it again, but something that could be improved. Also it doesn't invade your twitter by posting or DMing people without your consent, I was glad to see that. It functions as described (minus the small bug I mentioned).
