Video Speed Control extension let you easily control the playback speed for all HTML5 video elements. In order to work with this add-on, please open a webpage that contains HTML5 video elements. Then, play a desired video element and open toolbar popup UI. Within the UI, adjust the playback speed and then click on the - green - check mark button. The playback speed will be changed according to the value shown in the popup. Please note that, this add-on does NOT change the speed automatically. You need to open toolbar popup UI and press on the green check mark button each time (needs user-action). Moreover, every time a page is reloaded, the add-on need a user-action again.
The minimum playback speed is 0.01x and maximum speed is 16x. The min and max values are according to the HTML5 standards. You're probably like me. You're a maker, and always eager to learn more. BUT... because you're a maker you have a lot of things to do. So, watching videos sometimes at 1x speed just won't cut it. What sites will this work with extension? This will work on any videos hosted on / seen on these platforms: - Youtube - Vimeo - Netflix - Videos hosted on Wistia (that's almost any online course out there) - and any HTML5 video you watch But won't this make me superhuman? - It can no longer run in full screen, can't change the speed with the mouse wheel and you could drag the old version anywhere on the screen. Bring back the old version please.

- Guys, the old extension worked perfectly. Now I can't use my old keys to advance the time of the video. I'm glad I backed up the old version. The only thing I would change with the old version is to have an option of permanently removing the ui from the video. Please update the app to make the old features work again.

- 2024-06-21 UPD: new update broke everything. It doesn't work at all. Binding are not working, changing bindings also doesn't work. The only place for this extensions now is in a trash can. 2024-05-03 UPD: stop working on YouTube. Dunno why. Surprisingly very good. Works not only with YouTube, but with shorts and any another videos including Instagramm and all other sites. It takes only 57Kb and not collecting any data from you. Sounds perfect, right?

- The old UI was 100X better. I loved the feature that showed how much time it will take to finish the video. The only reason I used this extension was for this feature. But it's not there in the new UI. Everything thing was perfect in the older version and I don't think any update was needed. It just became worse. I can't use my previous keys to increase/decrease speed now. I hope they revert back to the older version or fixes this one and add the remaining time feature. I would've given it 5 stars for the older version but I'll have to give only 1 star now. Things have become highly inconvenient and I am angry.

- The app has great potential but the save button in options does not work. Will update review if fixed. Also the size of the hover bar changes at different speeds. It would be a good idea to lock it at set width within the video window. This is just a suggestion though. Update 12/28/2023: The save button now works
