- (2025-08-29) Abby B: I've been using Honey for years. I have saved so much money thanks to this browser extension. I've gone to make purchases that I never would've even considered there might be a coupon code for, but the Honey ext reminds me with a prompt and to my delight and surprise, it has found major discounts for me that I'd never have found otherwise. I came here to give it a 5-star rating, but after reading the other reviews and then doing some research about how Honey has stolen the commissions earned by hard-working content creators, affiliates, "influencers", I'm not feeling quite so good about it. At least Google forced them to stop completely ripping off the incomes earned by individuals, but I still don't think they're totally playing fair and I genuinely hope the Class Action Lawsuit results in all those people getting what they earned 10-fold. It it cripples PayPal and Honey gets shut down, I won't be mad at all. I'll celebrate actually. Until then, when I can tell I'm not letting them get credit that's due elsewhere, I'll take the discounts.

They replace affiliate links with their own to generate revenue. Used to be cool, they got greedy and now are scumbags. Switched to Caramel. They are open source and more privacy forward. They also use creator affiliate links rather than their own.

- (2025-08-15) Zachary Allender: I used to think Honey was a harmless way to save a few bucks at checkout, but after learning what’s really going on behind the scenes, I immediately uninstalled it. Honey has been exposed for quietly replacing creators’ affiliate links with its own, effectively hijacking commissions meant for influencers and content creators who actually recommended the product. It feels incredibly dishonest — the creators do all the work, and Honey intercepts the payout. Worse, the so-called “best deals” it shows are often controlled or prioritized by merchants, meaning you’re not always getting the best coupon or discount available. It’s more about pushing what benefits them, not you. This isn’t just some small bug — it’s a pattern of behavior that prioritizes corporate profit over transparency and user trust. The fact that Google had to update its extension policies because of Honey says a lot. Bottom line: It’s not just a bad extension — it’s an unethical one. Do your favorite creators a favor and uninstall it.
