- (2025-06-24) Mike: I wish we had the option to select our model when we search using this, or have it stay on the model we were already using in the app
- (2025-05-01) len gros369: Only 4 stars so I can rate a 5 with the next inevitable improvement. Perplexity is very configurable. If you're not specifying it's interaction there's your path to better. There is not a lot of value in the old style Search engines when you have to sift through a mountain of baloney for a spec of Caviar. Plus it is more closely aligned with unbiased, a real challenge in todays social communications environment that I greatly respect. I haven't found it trying to sell me any ideas - LOL.
- (2025-04-19) John: I don't like that it overrides the startup. I want to start where I left off. Everything else works fine.
- (2025-03-26) Prabhat Singh: developers you need to work on search selection on homepage please, or you can tell me I'll do it for you
- (2025-03-25) Nathan Veeraraghavan: I love this extension. I am a power user of Perplexity and its almost replaced my google search usage. The plugin works fine on Windows and Mac. But for some reason, it does not show up as the default search option for Chrome on my Linux desktop dev machine. Now, if thats fixed...its going to be 5 stars all around!!
- (2025-03-24) Pieter Nieuwoudt: Love using perplexity and like being able to directly use it as my search engine, but it forces your new tab page and home page to be perplexity.ai and you cannot change it while using the extension. Unfortunately until that is removed or is an optional feature I can't recommend this to anyone.
- (2025-03-19) Yaro Pan: The extension forces you to use Perplexity for search queries in the address bar with no option to select another search engine. It changes the startup page to Perplexity. I understand why they do this, to take traffic away from Google for all queries, but this power grab without giving the option to the user is a deal breaker. The answers frequent incorrect info too, so relying solely on Perplexity for search is not an option.
- (2025-03-12) Osama Khalil: The conditions for the HRVATSKI TELEKOM promotion there was no prior indication that my subscription could be revoked after activation.
- (2025-03-12) James Sharman: Love using perplexity and like being able to directly use it as my search engine, but it forces your new tab page and home page to be perplexity.ai and you cannot change it while using the extension. Unfortunately until that is removed or is an optional feature I can't recommend this to anyone.
- (2025-03-11) Dave Dugal: Functions as documented, but unfortunately having a full AI analysis of every trivial search is a bit of an overkill. I'll stick with $FAVORITE for now and create a custom "pp" search for when I need the full power of Perplexity AI.
- (2025-03-10) Steve Crossley: I'm going to keep it for now in the hope that they remove the forced homepage setting, as I'd like to set my own home page. If they change the behaviour I'm improve the number of stars. If not, I'll remove the extension.
- (2025-02-28) Alaina Janes: My favourite AI, having it as my search engine provides more accurate and diverse answers, would rate 6/5 if I could.
- (2025-02-17) Matt Gr: OK, works as expected. I just dont like that it takes over my homepage setting. I need another specific homepage to start with. Would be perfect otherwise
- (2025-01-26) Richard Outram: For Vivaldi 1 star I'm afraid, as conflicts with workspaces that it somehow resets at the end of each session. Remove it and workspaces work normally. Please resolve as i would like to use this extension as a big fan of the android app.
- (2025-01-26) Gaurav Jha: amazing
- (2025-01-23) COSTALES IBUJÉS ELIÁN JHOSUE (ELI): I love it
- (2025-01-18) Jason Quinn: It works perfectly but is completely unusable because it controls your browser start-up settings and prevents your previous browser tabs from being restored upon opening the browser. It's such an unnecessarily aggressive use of permissions and it's both dumb and uncomfortable. You're killing the desire to use the app as most people tech savvy enough to install a browser plugin would be also be tech savvy enough to have their browser restore their previous session.
- (2025-01-13) Rey Za: Great idea, but it kills my previous session, so when I open the browser all my tabs are gone. I really don't want to go into my history and have to restore each time I open Chrome.
- (2025-01-11) Jimmy Joel: I installed it and no effect on my searches, I checked docs, browser configs, restarted the browser, etc. I see the extension installed and enabled but no effects.
- (2025-01-05) Roque Mozingo (Rocky): Perplexity is pretty cool. But the extension takes permanent control of your browser startup pages. There's just no need for that.
- (2024-12-30) Abhi (Abhi): this is awesome
- (2024-12-21) Sean Pinto: does what it says it can do. five stars.
- (2024-12-17) Bahadir Balibasa: Fabuluos! Very Useful...
- (2024-12-13) Zoid: Pretty good, just would prefer it did not override the tabs on startup in browser settings outside of that its pretty much replaced google for me
- (2024-12-13) Rebecca Van Mol: Complex answers to a simple search request. Minimal censorship and tells you why it cannot answer you. Brave has started censoring so much it is useless on alternative health.
- (2024-12-12) Serzhan Akhmetov: Works just fine on Brave. Installed and it automatically switched my search engine from DDG to Perplexity
- (2024-12-11) Amit Kohli: It works... ignore the negative reviews; they are just reacting to unexpected behaviour. If you want Perplexity to take over as your search thingie, this tool does what it says on the tin.
- (2024-12-10) Chris Fonnesbeck: This extension quite literally does nothing. Does not replace Google with Perpexity as default search. Does not even give you an option to do it manually.
- (2024-12-08) Steven Prybylynskyi: Why homepage is replaced? I'm back to ChatGPT as the search engine
- (2024-12-05) Brian Clear: I want it to only replace search as I prefer it to google search but I dont want it to replace my whole home screen. Disabled it till this happens
- (2024-12-05) Belay Mulat: Just apply this in your SE setting Search engine Perplexity, Shortcut perplexity.ai/search/ URL with % in place of query, https://www.perplexity.ai/search/?q=%s
- (2024-12-04) K L: works great, automatically configured Chrome to use itself
- (2024-12-02) Beau Begley: Works as expected, do not listen to those who claim it doesn't work. They obviously do not understand how to enable it due to edge / chrome settings keeping extensions from changing your default search engine out of the box. Instead of flaming the developers, maybe learn how to work your browser correctly. - Sincerely, A Perplexity Pro user.
- (2024-12-01) Luke McEneny: Did not work, it still was just using Google rather than perplexity replacing it.
- (2024-11-30) Alexander Carlsson: Very awesome!!! But please add an option to override the new tab page because I hate the default bing/microsoft one and would like perplexity to open when opening a new tab in my browser. Using edge.
- (2024-11-26) Reymarr Hijara: In the realm of non-operational tech, the Perplexity AI Extension is a gleaming example of digital paradox. Kudos to the developers for pushing the boundaries of unproductivity—it’s not just a bug, it's a feature! If your aim is to marvel at the audacity of underachievement, then this is the tool for you.
- (2024-11-24) Cube Box: Does not work in Brave browser
- (2024-11-20) Jarek: Love that extention and Perlexity. That is next level o searching.
- (2024-11-13) JustSome User: Use FELO.AI instead. Please let perplexity AI die. This AI is an abomination and censored trash. Especially since they team up with CLAUDE, the worst AI by far.
- (2024-11-12) Graham THOUARD-Fisk: It gets some family name search facts wrong. It substitutes totally unrelated people in some of the listed facts.
- (2024-11-09) Abhinav Dharmapuri: Can we have a page like google.. I am comfortable searching from a landing page than the search bar on the top.
- (2024-11-05) Keith Murray: Fantastic, thorough search results without the ads and bias of big tech (at least for now). I love that it opens in a new tab so it doesn't interrupt my workflow. It has completely replaced the big G for me.
- (2024-11-05) Alexius: It's completelly worthless. All it does is it opens a tab with perplexity.ai
- (2024-11-05) Hemang Joshi: This is good but i hope it can take queries from directly the search bar or url bar instead opening new page of perplexity.
- (2024-11-03) Alexey Petrovich: Excellent service with ... It's a strange idea that if I want to use perplexity, I have to abandon my homepage with my picture and fixed bookmarks in the center, to a shabby standard page from perplexity. I'm sorry, but no, I'm not ready.
- (2024-11-02) Dan Brazil: Nice idea, but if I create a new tab I must be able to see my Google workspace options in top right hand corner as that is the way I operate - make this stay as it currently is and I'd be happy
- (2024-11-02) Noel Georgi: It's a cool concept but I hate the way it forces the browser to make it the default search engine, I want a solution where if you start a search with a particular character like for example /, it goes to perplexity else it does normal search on the search engine
- (2024-11-01) Andrew Zhuang: One of the best search engines ever invented!
- (2024-11-01) Kevin Manjit: Love using Perplexity!
- (2024-10-31) Jahid Hasan: Loving the era of Perplexity, its really helpful and become a personal assistant to learn a lot of knowledge including history, psychology, finance etc.
