With SafeMessage you can write and read secure messages on the Internet. Our extension offers an easy way to encrypt and decrypt texts to protect your communication.
How does SafeMessage work?
Generate key:
Click on the “Generate key” button to create a unique encryption key. This key is used to encrypt and decrypt messages.
Keep this key safe. If you lose it, you will no longer be able to decrypt your messages.
Set pattern:
Enter a pattern (e.g. &&&) that is used to identify your encrypted messages. This pattern is inserted before and after the encrypted message and enables the extension to automatically recognize and decrypt the encrypted texts.
Save:
Save the key and pattern so that SafeMessage works.
Encrypt message:
Enter the text you wish to encrypt in the input field.
Click on “Encrypt” to encrypt the text. The encrypted text is displayed in the output field and can be copied and forwarded. Never enter the text in an input field on a website as it can already be read there.
Decrypt message:
Decryption works automatically on most sites. However, you can also copy the encrypted text into the output field and click on “Decrypt”.
Data protection and security
No external resources: Our extension does not load any external resources. All operations and data processing take place locally in your browser.
No data processing: We do not process any personal data. All encryption and decryption processes take place exclusively on your device. No data is transferred to our servers or to third parties.
